Belgium venues – positive action on energy
Easyfairs’ Belgian venues have huge roofs! To make good use of this space, Flanders Expo and Antwerp Expo have installed solar panels to generate green energy. Easyfairs is committed to ensuring that, by the end of 2024, 100% of the electricity used in all venues will be taken from renewable sources. This requires significant investment, but it makes long-term sense, economically as well as environmentally.
Easyfairs has run energy audits in all Belgian venues and put the recommendations into action. This resulted in Flanders Expo saving 100,000 cubic meters of gas in one year alone.
Easyfairs Belgium also makes it easier for everybody using its facilities to act sustainably, for example, through the installation of more EV charging stations and bicycle parking at venues and offices. There are now 50 charging points at Flanders Expo and extra stations are being installed at Antwerp Expo.
