Easyfairs earns Best Managed Companies label for the fifth year running

Events company is now a Gold Requalifying Laureate

Brussels, 12 May 2023 – Easyfairs has retained the Best Managed Companies label for the fifth year running and thus becomes a “Gold Requalifying Laureate”. The Best Managed Companies programme rigorously evaluates participants against a proven global framework: a clear long-term strategy, extensive capabilities, strong commitment, and excellent financial performance.

Clear progress on ESG

Environmental, social and governance issues have taken centre stage at Easyfairs and featured prominently in the BMC submission. In 2022 Easyfairs introduced a concrete list of actions for all 700 talents to implement on their respective events and in their venues and offices across the three dimensions of ESG.

In 2021 the company signed the “Net Zero Carbon Events” pledge, with a commitment to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050. “In retaining the BMC label we have demonstrated our solid early progress towards net zero,” said Anne Lafère, Group CEO, Easyfairs.

In 2022 Easyfairs commissioned an independent consultancy, Climact, to conduct a baseline assessment of greenhouse gas emissions at its events, venues and offices. “We are now well placed to conduct analysis of our GHG emissions, set annual targets for reductions and track results using advanced business intelligence,” said Lafère.

Digital transformation: stepping up to the next level

The Easyfairs 2022 submission also highlighted further progress in Easyfairs’ digital transformation, with a focus on enabling communities to engage 365 days a year via online platforms. Over the years Easyfairs’ digital products have allowed the company to collect very valuable data on typical visitors’ profiles and interests. “We are now stepping up to the next level, using artificial intelligence to improve our service, for example by giving personalised recommendations to pre-registered visitors, or giving people unable to attend the opportunity to network with exhibitors and speakers,” said Stephan Forseilles, Group CTO, Easyfairs.

A “one team” culture

Employee expectations have changed dramatically in recent years and Easyfairs has responded with various initiatives to nurture flexibility, attract and retain top talents, and boost employee engagement. “Talents increasingly want to see progress in their careers and develop their skills. We’ve put a premium on learning and fostering leadership capabilities,” said Lafère.

Retaining the BMC Gold label accolade is not only a huge vote of confidence for our excellent community of employees, partners and customers. This international recognition also provides a fantastic incentive to drive further change and progress in the events industry. Congratulations to the companies that secured Best Managed Company status this year and are driving excellence in their own sectors,” said Matt Benyon, Group CEO, Easyfairs.

The 2023 Best Managed Companies winners have demonstrated innovation, adaptability and resilience in the face of an ever-changing environment and market. Over the past year, these companies have responded appropriately to challenges and exploited new opportunities,” concluded Bruno Peelaers, Partner Deloitte Private and Best Managed Companies Programme Leader.
