Easyfairs publishes Activity Report with record results and announces rebrand
Multinational event organiser and venue manager Easyfairs has published its 2016-17 Activity Report and, in the process, announced a rebranding. Henceforth, all of the group’s activities will come under the umbrella brand Easyfairs. Previously the group was known as Artexis Easyfairs, with the venue side of the business (in Belgium and Sweden) branded Artexis and events in all countries branded Easyfairs.
The Activity Report, entitled “Stand out … Be Outstanding”, focuses on what differentiates Easyfairs from other companies in the exhibition sector, as well as major highlights over the past two years, notably:
- The acquisition of Evenementenhal, owner of three venues in the Netherlands and organiser of about 80 Dutch events
- The launch of many innovative events serving new communities, such as various healthcare communities, cosmetics packaging and the diamond trade
- Most notably the launch of the “Heroes” network of events for fans of comics, sci-fi and fantasy
- The acquisition of several prestigious event brands (including ADF&PCD, Pentawards, Advanced Engineering, MetalMadrid and CCR Expo)
- The management of a brand-new venue to be opened in Gothenburg early in 2019
- Winning the 2017 UFI Education Award
- A significant acceleration in revenue growth: 2016-2017 total revenues of more than € 160 million (up 39,3% on 2015-16)
- A significant increase in profits: 2016-2017 EBITDA of more than € 31 million (up 76,6%)
- These developments have elevated Easyfairs into the world’s “Top 20” exhibition organisers based on annual revenues
The factors that differentiate Easyfairs from other companies provide the main rationale for the name change. As stated in the Activity Report, “What makes Easyfairs stand out is right there, in the name. That’s because everything is made effortless for customers. It’s the communities we serve who take centre-stage, so that visitors are free to enjoy a great experience.”
Other “stand-out” factors highlighted in the Activity Report include: Easyfairs’ success in organising multiformat events; the advanced technology backbone that runs through the company; the continuous investment in talent development; and Easyfairs’ process-driven approach, which enables repeatable success, for example through the geo-cloning of events.
