Easyfairs Belgium invests in the mobility of tomorrow

Ghent, 19 September 2025 – Easyfairs, operator of Flanders Expo, Antwerp Expo, Nekkerhal and Namur Expo, is responding to the growing demand for smooth and smart accessibility. New charging points for cars and bicycles, superchargers, improved traffic flows and a user-friendly parking experience make it easier than ever for visitors and exhibitors to get around.

Smart mobility around Flanders Expo

This summer, the mobility infrastructure of Flanders Expo received a major upgrade. New road infrastructure, digital signage and an automated payment system with barriers provide more comfort and faster throughput. With 50 charging stations – delivering 100 DC charging points for cars and 9 charging points for bicycles – a solid foundation for electric mobility is already in place. On top of that, 4 Boostcharge superchargers, offering 8 charging bays, add extra capacity. This ensures that access for both visitors and passers-by is faster, simpler and future-oriented.

The City of Ghent is also supporting accessibility to The Loop with new parking rates that will be introduced this autumn. The fixed daily rate will disappear, and visitors will henceforth pay only for the actual time they park.

An analysis of parking data shows that nearly 47% of visitors will pay the same or even less than today, especially those parking for less than 4 hours. The new model encourages turnover and makes parking fairer and more efficient.

New momentum at Namur Expo

In cooperation with the BEP (Bureau Économique de la Province de Namur), Easyfairs has already invested in improved mobility around Namur Expo. In addition to the renovation of the halls, there will be a 200-space exhibitor car park, a spacious bicycle parking area and 10 DC charging stations for electric vehicles. This makes the site more accessible for both car and bicycle traffic.

Extra power in Mechelen, smart routes in Antwerpen

Easyfairs is also taking action in Mechelen and Antwerp. Nekkerhal now offers 6 additional charging stations for electric cars, while visitors to Antwerp Expo can find their way around the site even faster and more intuitively thanks to digital wayfinding.

One clear course: smooth accessibility for everyone

With these investments, Easyfairs underlines its ambition to offer visitors, exhibitors and partners a modern, accessible and worry-free mobility experience. Whether it’s about faster parking, smarter charging or smoother traffic flows: at all our venues, accessibility is central.

Our exhibition halls play an important role in bringing communities together”, says Alain D’Haese, Easyfairs Belgium COO & Head of Venues. “That’s why we are investing in sustainable mobility solutions that improve the experience for our visitors. In this way, our four event venues are multiformat, sustainable and futureproof.”
