Customisation and sustainability to the fore at Kistamässan venue
Easyfairs continues to invest in modular, reusable systems for its own events
Stockholm, 19 September 2024 – Easyfairs will build all exhibition stands for events at its Kistamässan, Stockholm venue using the beMatrix modular system.
This strategic move is a crucial step in Easyfairs’ ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries of the event industry, enhancing customers’ experience and advancing environmental initiatives.
In 2022-23, 70% of all Easyfairs stands across the group were made of all-in modular structures, which are re-used from one event edition to the next.
The company aims to increase this by 2% annually, starting in the 2023-2024 business year. “This latest investment in Sweden will help to achieve our sustainability objectives,” commented Anne Lafère, Group CEO Easyfairs.
A big step towards “Net Zero”
In October 2021, Easyfairs signed the “Net Zero Carbon Events” pledge, a global initiative aimed at achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and halving greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. This pledge represents the most inclusive and comprehensive action taken to address climate change within the event sector to date. Easyfairs’ investment in the beMatrix system for Kistamässan is a significant move towards meeting these ambitious goals. By eliminating the need to discard stand walls and printed materials after each show, the company will reduce its carbon footprint and wider environmental impact whilst enhancing the quality and sustainability of its products and services.
The all-in model not only significantly reduces purchase and waste emissions but also reduces freight emissions. Rather than using individual trucks, Easyfairs delivers all-in stands collectively, which reduces the number of vehicles driving to Kistamässan and other venues. In some cases, Easyfairs all-in stands are kept in its own venues and therefore don’t require any transportation at all.
An enhanced customer experience
On top of delivering a more environmentally friendly product, the beMatrix modular system will also allow Easyfairs to simplify the event experience for exhibitors and partners . The system combines the benefits of modularity with the flexibility of custom-made solutions, enabling the creation of a wide variety of stand concepts with a single set of frames. In this way, Easyfairs can offer a multitude of customised booth designs that cater to each customer’s unique needs without the waste typically associated with traditional stand building.
“We are confident that our customers will greatly appreciate the all-inclusive service we now provide at Kistamässan, making their participation in events or organising shows with us easier than ever before,” says Fredrik Lantz, Head of Venues at Easyfairs Nordic.
Following the recent announcement of Easyfairs’ acquisition of stand-building operations at Kistamässan, this development demonstrates another significant step forward in Easyfairs’ journey to set new industry standards for efficiency and sustainability.
Sustainability at other Easyfairs venues
Easyfairs already adopted similar sustainability measures at its venues in Belgium and the Netherlands by offering Aluvision and/or Octanorm systems, modular solutions that can be reused across multiple event cycles, furthering the company’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint while maintaining high-quality experiences for exhibitors and visitors.
