Visitors Flock to Regional Construction Exhibitions
Proximity to the consumer is a major advantage for Easyfairs events
Brussels, 27 February 2020: International event organiser and venue manager Easyfairs has recently organised five successful events in the building, construction and renovation sectors, drawing a total of 160,000 visitors and 1,200 exhibitors. What is the secret behind this success? In our busy society there is a clear trend: exhibition visitors prefer to stay close to home.
“People are opting to attend regional renovation and construction events where they can meet manufacturers as well as the professionals capable of executing their project. We consciously address this desire to attend events that are close to home”, says Dirk Van Roy, CEO Easyfairs Belgium.
With a total of five regional construction exhibitions in Belgium alone, Easyfairs attracts around 1,200 exhibitors and 160,000 visitors per year: bis construction & inspiration (at Flanders Expo), bouw&reno (Antwerp Expo), Wonen (Nekkerhal Mechelen) and Batireno/Energie & Habitat and Bois & Habitat (Namur Expo).
Bursting at the seams
Bis is the largest of the five events with 77,723 visitors attending in October 2019. Visitor numbers are up by 10%, making this the most successful edition in the last five years. Wonen also attracted 11% more visitors to its last edition, in February 2020. “Even before the doors are wide open, the entrance halls fill up with visitors looking to turn their plans into concrete projects”, says Kenzo Van Nieuwenhove, Easyfairs Head of Building Cluster.
“Our fairs are in a positive flow, something that is obvious from both the visitor numbers and sales. Just four months after the previous edition, we have already sold 75% of the exhibition space for the next edition of bis! As for bouw&reno, Antwerp Expo was bursting at the seams with exhibitors in January 2020. So much so that our aim is to fill our brand-new Hall 5 (with an additional 2,000 m²) for next year’s edition in January 2021”, continues Van Nieuwenhove.
One-stop shop as a success formula
“Our goal is for our visitors to leave the fair well informed. Our events are genuine one-stop shops that answer any question they may have: they come into contact with professionals, there are free advice sessions, they can discover novelties and innovations. All this and more in a relaxed environment with a clear layout, close to home,” says Van Nieuwenhove.
It doesn’t end there: project zones offer an insight into the building and living trends of the future and visitor competitions provide a financial boost. This is a successful combination, as illustrated by the positive results of the visitor surveys. In short, thanks to an innovative approach regional construction fairs create more added value for visitors and exhibitors than ever before.
