Transuniverse Forwarding is a unique company with a unique product. It started out in 1983 when it sent its first truck to Iraq and another to Iran. Today we have grown into a group that serves the whole of Europe as well as Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Turkey and Iran with very regular, often daily, connections. We only use reliable, specialised partners and agents for this service. Where necessary, we provide interim storage ourselves.
We can rightly call ourselves the number one group shipment forwarder in Belgium for many destinations, but we also deal with part load consignments and full loads. As well as all conventional goods, our regular package of services includes ADR (hazardous materials) and temperature-controlled goods.
As a young, dynamic company where fourteen languages are spoken in the workplace, we prioritise flexibility and service tailored to human needs. We have a single goal: getting your shipment to your customer fast, safely and smoothly.

  • 7,400 m² warehouse offers space for new goods flows

At its headquarters in Wondelgem near Ghent, Transuniverse Group still has space for new activities. It has a 7,400 m² warehouse that is available almost immediately.

The total storage space available in Wondelgem, where 15,000 trucks come and go each year, is 24,000 m². Almost a third of that space was freed up again recently, which offers immediate opportunities for new activities.
“It is a multipurpose warehouse that can easily be adapted to the user’s needs, for example by fitting storage racks. We hope to be able to develop activities with added value there. Ideally, we would like to attract a shipper that entrusts us with transportation, because that is still our core business.” Miri Nedelcu explains the preferred customer profile.

    Cross dock
Transuniverse Group also has a 500 m² ADR (hazardous materials) warehouse and storage and distribution hangars with a total surface area of about 12,000 m² on its 46,000 m² site.
The heart of the site is the new 5,100 m² cross dock that the group started using in 2014. It serves as a hub for all the goods that flow in and out each day.
All the warehouses together have a total of 65 dock shelters.

  • Transuniverse Group has a sleek new look

A new structure demands a new house style. This puts a modern, consistent and immediately recognisable face on everything to do with Transuniverse Group, from the trucks to the website and business cards.

The new house style is part of Transuniverse’s efforts to profile itself more actively in the market as a company that is not to be overlooked.
“It makes us more visible and promotes the message that we know who we are and where we are heading”, operations manager Kevin Van Ongeval emphasises. “We are really going for it. This year’s figures are great, for a start.”
The key colours will still be black, green and white, but the design is sleeker and it will be used more consistently for all our materials. These colours determine the general appearance of the website. They are used on our business cards for the slogan ‘We ship, we handle, we store, we care’.
Soon they will also be featured on sixty trailers belonging to our subcontractors. Thirty vehicles used nationally will be adapted first. In the second phase, we will adapt the same number of trailers used for international routes. This will give Transuniverse Group even more visibility.

Customers can now place and track their transport orders on the Transuniverse Forwarding portal. Everything is done in a simple, clear and very user-friendly manner.

As soon as you have logged in, you can book your shipment. To do this, simply fill in what you want to have shipped, where to and when it should be picked up, as well as any other specific information relevant to the shipment. You will then receive a clear summary of your order with the status ‘order placed’. Our back office confirms the order and changes the status to ‘order registered’.

When the driver picks up your goods, he informs the back office on his tablet. The order is then changed to ‘order collected’ on the portal. After that, your shipment goes to our cross-dock platform where it is grouped with other shipments for the destination region. A lorry leaves from Wondelgem, heading for one of our partners’ distribution platforms in the destination country. Once your goods have been delivered to the customer, the status on the portal is changed to ‘order delivered’. The ‘Proof of Delivery’ (PoD) is then available on the portal.

Our accounts department draws up the invoice. This is then also available on the portal. The PoD and other documents can be requested easily. The whole system is user friendly and transparent. Discover it on http://portal.transuniverse.be/

The head office for Transuniverse France is in Garonor, the immense logistics zone north of Paris, along the A1 (Autoroute du Nord). This is also where the central transshipment platform for France is situated. The French subsidiary fulfils a commercial role in addition to its operational duties. It will ensure further growth in the existing groupage transport between Belgium and France. The new team will also ensure that Transuniverse Forwarding’s presence is highlighted in shipments between France and the rest of Europe.

In this context, a branch and smaller cross-docking hub has opened in Lyon. In the fairly short term, Transuniverse also wants to open transshipment platforms in other major French cities. For example that will be happening soon in Rijsel.

    Transuniverse Forwarding Morocco

Furthermore, Transuniverse has set up its own groupage company in Casablanca to serve the Moroccan market better. This branch started out with four staff. Today, there are daily shipments from Wondelgem to Maghreb. The office Casablanca has its own transshipment platform.

In Tunisia, Transuniverse continues to work with an exclusive agent, AST Tunis (Avenir Service Transport). There, AST’s infrastructure is also used for the cross-dock operations.

Furthermore, Transuniverse Forwarding France plays an important role in transport to and from Morocco and Tunisia. Lorries to and from Wondelgem can stop in Garonor to re-load, to increase the speed of the frequent shipments to and from both countries.
