Ahmad N. Mokhtar, Managing Director of Integas Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd
Ahmad

Ahmad N. Mokhtar, 56, is a Chartered Chemical Engineer. He started his career as a process engineer in petroleum refinery with ESSO Malaysia Berhad. Later, he was directly involved in two major business start-ups; a natural gas utility company and a chemical storage company. In 2003, he joined Lloyd's Register as the Country Manager for Malaysia. In 2007, he took up the position of International Project Manager with Vitol Tank Terminal International (VTTI), where he was in charge of overseeing storage tank projects at Fujairah Refinery Co. Ltd., UAE. Further, in 2011, he was assigned to carry out business development for VTTI Asia Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), covering Asia Pacific region. He was also involved in a number of terminals due diligence works, worldwide. He left the VTTI Group in January 2015, to carry out consultancy and business development works on oil & gas logistics, in particular for hydrocarbon storage terminals, under Integas Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd.

PVN Chandrasekaran is Master Degree holder in Mechanical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University & in Training and Development from Griffith University, Australia. Chandrasekaran has Over 20 years experience in Quality & HSE leadership role in the geographic reach of Asia Pacific, Middle East, Brunei, Malaysia & Singapore in upstream, midstream and downstream (oil & gas) at onshore & offshore and Manufacturing.

Chandrasekaran is a Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower Approved Workplace Safety and Health Auditor, Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer, Registered Environmental Control Officer, Lead Auditor in Quality Management System and Occupational Safety Management System.         


Peck Thian Guan, Director, Office of Safety Health and Environment (OSHE), National University of Singapore
Dr Peck Thian Guan

Dr Peck Thian Guan is the Director of the Office of Safety Health and Environment (OSHE) at the National University of Singapore.  He is responsible for development of safety & health policies and he oversees the implementation of the university’s safety & health management system.  

Dr Peck is the Chairman of the Working Group (WG) on Safety & Health for the Higher Education and Research (HER) Sector in Singapore since 2013. He is the Co-Chairman of Enterprise Singapore’s Working Group on Occupational Safety & Health Management system, and the Chair of the Working Group to review the standard on Safety and Health Management System for the chemical industry (SS506: Part 3).  

He was a member of the international Working Group that developed the OHSAS 18001 and OHSAS 18002 standards.  He is Singapore’s representative in the ISO committee responsible for the development of the ISO 45001 standard on Occupational Health and Safety Management System.  He was the convenor of a task group responsible for developing specific clauses of the international standard.

Konrad Jar

Konrad leads Wood Mackenzie's downstream consulting practice in Singapore and has over 12 years of experience in consulting for the downstream oil industry.

Konrad has led numerous consulting assignments for Wood Mackenzie including feasibility studies for refinery projects, market studies, crude screening, transaction support and valuation projects. 

Konrad has significant experience of working with trading and storage companies as well as financial investors within the storage industry. He has led numerous commercial due diligence assignments for storage assets in Greater Singapore, ARA, Northwest Europe, USGC, Australia, Northeast Asia, and the Middle East. Konrad has also been involved in screening and identifying investment opportunities in the storage and fuels marketing sectors and advising clients on market entry strategies.

Konrad joined Wood Mackenzie from Deloitte, where he previously worked as a manager in the Strategy & Operations consulting practice, focusing on the downstream oil sector with assignments in Europe and North America. His project experience in the downstream sector ranged from transaction support (commercial due diligence) to large transformation, restructuring and post-merger integration projects. 

Konrad holds an MSc from Poznan University of Economics and has attended executive education courses at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Luc Bonami, born in Nieuwpoort Belgium October 1st 1967 and studied at the Nautical College of Ostend and Antwerp.

Started my career in 1989 as a sworn surveyor for the court of Antwerp and several international survey companies such as SGS and Det Norske Veritas. Early 90’s I joined the ‘other side’ in trading and production.

In 2002 I started ANNO Chemicals NV, head office in Antwerp, Belgium specialized in the trade of off-spec chemicals. Today the company has their own offices in: Antwerp, Rotterdam, Lille (France), Moscow, Denmark, Houston and New Jersey and support offices in South America, Far East and the middle East. ANNO Chemicals NV is apart from being one of the best-known salvage traders in the world also a distributor for companies such as Exxon Mobil Chemical, selling their normal product program.

Luc Bonami is also a well-known name in the insurance business acting as a consultant for insurance companies, P & I Clubs, legal firms involved in cargo claims.

Luc Bonami is also director of the Antwerp Distillation Company, the biggest glycol recovery plant in Europe, conveniently located in the port of Antwerp, the 2nd largest chemical port of the Western Hemisphere after Houston. This company was awarded a substantial grant from the Flemish government for innovation.


Yi Xiang Wong, Inspection Manager, Cyberhawk Innovations

Xiang leads the Oil and Gas inspection team and carries out technically challenging inspections, including world firsts in coal-fired power plant furnace and cargo oil tanks within on-station FPSOs. Prior to joining Cyberhawk, Xiang was a Senior Integrity Engineer at Lloyd’s Register overseeing pressure systems of upstream production facilities on FPSOs in the North Sea. He holds an MSc in Corrosion Control Engineering, BEng in Mechanical Engineering, and is active in developing new inspection and asset management solutions.


Mike Beviss, Senior Commercial Advisor, Benalec
Mike Beviss

Mike Beviss is the Senior Commercial Advisor Special Projects at Benalec Holdings Berhad where he provides commercial advisory services for their maritime projects. He has been working in the Maritime Industry for over 40 years. He is also currently the director of Special Projects at Eastport Maritime Pte Ltd and was previously the VP of Sales & Marketing both in Asia and in Europe, for Odfjell Terminals where he was actively involved in terminal business development, He spent five years as the head of the commercial department for the largest independent terminal in Europe. Having experience & knowledge handling petroleum, vegetable oils and bulk liquid chemicals all his working life he now provides his services to the storage & shipping industry. He is a regular speaker at shipping and storage conferences such as Platts and a course director and lecturer on “Bulk liquid storage related workshops for Global Port Forum. He has also in the past guest lectured at Erasmus University in Rotterdam and at the Singapore Management University (SMU) on logistics & supply chain management subjects. He has lived and worked in Asia and Rotterdam for over 23 years. 


Mr H.P.S. Ahuja CEO& MD, Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves

Mr HPS Ahuja, CEO &MD of ISPRL is a Mechanical Engineer from Bombay University  and a seasoned Offshore Engineer . He started his career with largest E&P company of India, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited. He has over three decades of rich experience in the various aspects of the Oil Industry.

He was instrumental in steering the implementation of ERP project of SAP across the entire organization pan India, which was the largest implementation by SAP in the APAC region. He was the founder member of the team that implemented this project in a time bound manner.

He has been with Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Ltd. (ISPRL) since 2008. Earlier, as Dy. CEO of ISPRL, he has been involved in implementation of the Phase-I of the strategic storage program of Govt. of India, entailing storage of crude oil in underground unlined rock caverns. Underground storages is quite a niche field in the oil industry. 

He is also a member of the Hydrocarbon committee of the Confederation of Indian Industries.


Mukesh Parikh, Executive Director (Ports & Shipping) SmartHead Consulting

Mr. Mukesh Parikh was a speaker at Tank Storage Asia 2017 at Singapore. He spoke on “Tank  Storage Terminals in India – Threats, Risks and Opportunities”. He is associated with Global Maritime Industry for over 35 years with hands on Industry experience. A post graduate in Management with marketing and finance, he also attended one year program “Professional Shipping” at Norwegian Shipping Academy, Oslo.

During his career of 18 years in Commercial Shipping, he worked for global ship owners and ship agents in all areas of shipping. He worked with The Adani Group in Senior Management position for 10 years from the inception stage of Mundra Port in India and made a major contribution to set up Business Development and Marketing team as well as establish Standard Operating Procedures for the entire spectrum of Operations in the port. He was head of Liquid Cargo Business Vertical at Mundra Port for three years. 

Since July 2014, Mr. Mukesh Parikh has taken up advisory and consultancy role for The Maritime Industry. As Senior Consultant for Ports and Marine with SmartHead Consulting, his project assignments cover hinterland mapping with competition analysis, Volume and revenue forecast for life of the project and financial modelling, investment optimization in line with market potential. Current mandates include development and implementation of Integrated Management System (IMS), Business Excellence and Standard Operating Procedures for a number of Tank Storage Terminals and Port operators in Africa, Arabian Gulf and India. Mr. Mukesh Parikh is also a Course Director for a number of Executive workshops conducted by The Global Ports Forum, Singapore.

Patrick Kulsen is managing director at PJK International and at Downstream/PortStorage Group. He has been employed by PJK since 2006 and currently has the role of general manager and senior consultant.

As general manager, Patrick is responsible for daily and long term business of the whole group. After integration and reorganizing Downstream/PortStorage Group and PJK into one coherent business the accelerated growth of the new company is now his main focus.

For various clients active in oil trading, oil products distribution and at tank storage companies, Patrick heads market research and consultancy projects. Recent projects focused mainly on commercial Due Diligence of tank terminal assets up for sale.

Patrick has degrees in Quantitative Finance (MSc.), Industrial Engineering (MSc.) and Mechanical Engineering (B).

Sam Mathew

Mr. Sam Mathew is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer having more than 40 years’ experience in the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Industry. He has been actively involved in the engineering, construction and consultancy business. Currently he is an Independent Consultant providing expert advisory services. 

Prior to his current role; Sam has been a Director of the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical business unit of Mott MacDonald, UK and worked there for 25 years. Sam’s role was to manage the oil & gas downstream global business; in particular, the bulk storage, transportation and distribution projects.  Sam had a global remit and has managed business in MENA and SEA regions, including UAE, Oman, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Morocco, etc.


Sharul B.A Rashid, Principal Engineer, Instrument and Control, Petronas
Sharul

Sharul A Rashid is the Principal Engineer, Instrument and Control in East Coast Refinery and Aromatics Plant based in Kertih, Terengganu, Malaysia.  Sharul had passed recent Custodian Assessment and ready for promotion. Sharul has more than 26 years of experience in handling instrumentation and control issues in oil, natural gas, gas liquefaction and petrochemical plant including pipeline transmission division. Sharul advises not only within his plant site but extend to other PETRONAS sites in matters pertaining to instrumentation and control. He has involved as an instrumentation expert in many key projects e.g. Kertih Compressor Station, Malaysia Peninsular Gas Utilisation metering stations project, MLNG Dua Debottlenecking Project etc.  Sharul has been sharing his valuable experience in IIOT PETRONAS Digital Transformation Initiative and Instrumentation Asset Management, including predictive tools e.g. Early Warning System and wireless sensors, Offsite Automation System Rejuvenation, Towards Instrumentation asset excellence in various platform in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, UAE, Oman, Turkey, Netherland, German, USA and even to Russia. He participated in various HSE Management Assurance Audits throughout PETRONAS sites focusing in key aspects of Process Safety Compliance.  He also participated in the development of core competency program, accelerated capability development  and intensified coaching for PETRONAS instrument engineers and technicians. Prior to joining PETRONAS, Sharul worked at MOTOROLA Semiconductor in Arizona, USA.  Sharul graduated with honors in Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Miami, Florida.  He pursued Master in Engineering in University of Florida, Gainesville, USA . He is a member of the International Society of Automation (ISA), member of Institute of Engineering Malaysia and member of Board of Engineer Malaysia and review committee for IECEx standard as well as ISA 75 Control Valve

Sujith Panikkar has a Master’s Degree in Safety, Health and Environment Technology from National University of Singapore, Bachelors in Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering from the University of Kerala, India and is a Certified Functional Safety Expert from TÜV Rheinland, TÜV SÜD and CFSE Board, USA.

He has over 27 years of experience in the field of Industrial Automation Systems & products for Oil & Gas, Petroleum Refining, and LNG, downstream petrochemicals industry projects including Distributed Control Systems, Foundation Fieldbus and Safety Instrumented Systems (for ESD / BMS / F&G applications) and Intrinsically Safe hazardous area interfaces.

Tony Quinn

Tony Quinn is one of the most respected advisors to the oil and chemical storage industry globally. He has originated over $2.5 billion of terminal sales and acquisitions since 2003 and was one of the pioneers of the financial sectors investment into Terminals. Tony is also a keen musician and has three children two of which also work in the industry.

Tony has worked in the industry for over 40 years in senior management positions for BP, Castrol and Simon Storage Group (now InterTerminals) in the UK. He was also CEO of Mabanaft London Ltd (Oil trading) and Emir8 Petroleum plc. Tony is now the CEO of TankBank International Singapore.

Zhang Weiliang

Zhang Weiliang founded Avetics Global while doing his engineering degree at NUS. Mr Zhang started the company in 2011, almost immediately winning the Nanyang Technopreneurship ideas.inc Business Challenge after founding the company. From then on, Mr Zhang has overseen the development of Avetics into a full spectrum engineering and services company that does aerial inspection, artistic photography, mapping and modelling, hardware engineering, training of drone operator, development of drone data management software, distributorship of drone products, and operational/safety consultancy. 

The track record and safety profile of Avetics has been recognized by major institutions, resulting in Avetics being a trusted vendor for commercial drone services in sensitive installations, to the point where the safety procedures of Avetics has been recognized by Exxon Mobil Global Aviation.
