    Sarens' engineering, project and sales teams comprehend today's high standards in the petrochemical, oil & gas industry. Safety as the utmost goal, our specialists focus on providing efficient solutions " from factory to foundation".

    Whether it is a reactor of 1.300 tons lifted by a crawler crane, an 1.390 tons splitter column of 125m in length lifted by a tower system or even the transport of a topside module of 15000 tons, Sarens provides tailor made solutions for all your heavy lifting and heavy transport needs.

    New lifting and transport petro7techniques are being introduced by our engineering department in close co-operation with our clients. This allows us, as a team, to execute modularization and assembly of heavier components leading to safer projects with significant cost and time savings.
    Major project manning till over 120 employees per project is not new to Sarens (small on-site operated company with engineers, project management, HR, administration etc).

    Sarens used following equipment for such projects:
    •gantry lifting systems
    •lattice boom cranes (up to 3.200tons capacity)
    •Telescopic cranes (up to 1200tons capacity)
    •Self-propelled modular trailers, SPMT's (>1000 axle lines worldwide)
    •Tower cranes



    Over the last decade Sarens has been involved in many new-built civil construction activities around the globe providing cranes for steel assembly work and installation of complex roof structures for soccer & event stadiums and industrial buildings.

    Soccer games generate strong emotions amongst the spectators but also at the level of the clubs, the investors and the engineers who design them. All are unique and challenge the manufacturers for innovative solutions. Sarens provides engineering support to the designers and develops lifting civil4solutions for the complex steel structures whether it requires cranes, strand jacks or a combination of lifting devices.

    In May 2009, the Sarens group purchased Rigging International (RI), the internationally recognized leader in nuclear heavy lift rigging and heavy haul transport services.

    Since its founding in 1969, RI has successfully executed projects in every heavy lift segment of the nuclear power industry including:

    Key Account Manager

    Job description

    •Achieves/exceeds the Sales & Business Development targets as stated in the annual Sales plan.
    •Gives input for this plan to the Sales & Marketing Manager.
    •Pro-actively hunts for additional business, continuously finds new opportunities and leads to expand Sarens’ customer- and revenue base.
    •Brings forward to his/her Manager and Sales team, new initiatives for continuous improvement and growing and securing revenue.
    •Visits (potential) clients.
    •Assesses (potential) clients.
    •Market & Sales positioning; knows in-depth both the Sarens’ equipment and its possibilities, as well as the clients’ most relevant infrastructure and needs requiring lifting services, at least at a high level in order to be/become the client’s most trusted and knowledgeable advisor on heavy lift, special transport and crane rental.
    •Responsible for the processing of applications of his/her clients, the issuing of estimates, quotations, offers and contracts, and monitoring the progress, in accordance with the expectations of management, the authorization scheme and with respect to L1/L2 project procedure; above all paying attention to deviations in (standard) terms & conditions.
    •Follows Group Sales guidelines, communicated by his/her Manager, consisting of:
    1. Market segmentation
    2. Client identification
    3. Revenue analysis
    4. Key account allocation
    5. Target setting
    6. Call & Visit Reports
    7. Pipeline and quotation management
    8. Idle equipment follow-up

    Graduate level qualification in an relevant subject e.g. MBA, Marketing, etc.
    Experience –
    ? Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales management positions in Heavy Lift and Transportation industry

    Legal requirements
    ? A Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university which meets the work permit requirements of the country of residence

    Job description

    •Checks his documents (planning instruction sheet, certificates, lifting plan, etc.), makes sure he understand and is able to apply these.
    •Marks the assembly area and the hoisting area.
    •Makes the assembly area free of obstacles.
    •Checks the crane parts for eventual damages before unloading.
    •Correctly (un)loads crane parts from/on its transport.
    •(dis)assembles the crane in an efficient way
    •Controls all crane parts, safety pins, safety switches, cylinders, etc when assembling the crane.
    •Correctly slings simple ànd complex loads, using the correct slinging material.
    •Applies the safety rules (site ànd Sarens safety rules) and passes them on to co-workers, clients and suppliers.
    •Acts as an ambassador for the Sarens Company
    •Keeps his material neat.
    •Greases and oils the material as described.
    •Performs visual checks and inspections.
    •Reports damages.
    •Fills in and passes maintenance checklists.
    •Manages and maintains the rigging material.
    •Able to (dis)assembly cranes conform the instructions.
    •Performs a site inspection of assembling/lifting area. Considers ground pressures on the area terrain.
    •Performs visual checks and inspections
    •Correctly fills in his worksheet & gets it signed by the client. Passes them on weekly.
    •Regularly checks material and eventual ‘accessories’ (oil level, fuel level, first aid kid, fire extinguisher, walkie talkies, etc).
    •Reports the work on site and possible extra works.
    •Keeps or attends a start of work meeting with client/colleagues/subcontractor so that everyone is aware what is going to be done, who is the hoisting leader, what safety aspects has to be followed around the crane (especially within the lifting area) etc.


    •Secondary school (EQF level 3 or 4) in a technical education or equivalent by experience
    •Basic knowledge on crane capacities:
    •Knows the influence of the position of a crane on the lifting capacity.
    •Able to make a good estimation of the load.
    •> 3 years’ experience in rigging crew.
    •Basic English (speaking, understanding, reading)
    •Basic knowledge of mechanics.
    •Able to use e-mail and internet.
    •Able to correctly sling a complex load.
    •Basic knowledge of mechanics.
