ACERINOX is known worldwide as the one of the most competitive group in the world in stainless steel manufacturing. In production capacity, ACERINOX is the first world producer, with a melting output of 3.5 million Mt. It is formed by three flat products fully integrated production sites: Acerinox Europa, the Factory of El Campo de Gibraltar (Spain, established in 1970), the first one in producing more than one million tons per year (2001), North American Stainless, N.A.S. (Kentucky, USA, established in 1990), also fully integrated since February 2002, and finally Columbus Stainless (Middelburg, South Africa) that became part of the ACERINOX in the year 2002.
In February 2008 ACERINOX decided to carry out the new project in Malaysia. This decision taken after a thorough feasibility study, which included different alternatives, resulted in the construction of an integrated production plant in Johor Bahru, next to Singapore.
The project in its last stage will be a stainless steel integrated plant with 1 million Mt melting capacity and 600,000 Mt cold rolling capacity. Phase I is in operation since January 2012 and Phase II since first quarter of 2013.
In long products, Roldan, S.A. (Ponferrada, Spain), the very modern long products factory of N.A.S. (Kentucky, USA), inaugurated in 2002, and Inoxfil, S.A. (Igualada, Spain), are also leading international companies in terms of competitiveness of their production structure.

Product news

  • Torre Europa

Originally constructed in 1985 in the heart of Madrid’s business district and across from Santiago Bernabéu Stadium—home of the Real Madrid football team—the 121 meter high Torre Europa by the renowned architect Miguel de Oriol has been refurbished.

  • Basilica of the Sacred Family

The construction of the Expiatory Temple of the Holy Family (hereafter the “Sagrada Familia”) began in March 1882 but it is one year after when Gaudí was commissioned to continue and led the project with a different creative and monumental view. The pace of temple construction is due by its financing, which is based on donations.
This is a perfect example of how a current, versatile, machinable, transformable, durable and resistant material as stainless steel, can
rovide constructive solutions never seen before

  • Extension of Monaco in the sea

As a first step of the important project that Bouygues Travaux Publics is developing in the Principality of Monaco, in September 2017 started in Marseille the preparation works for the construction of 18 concrete caissons reinforced with stainless steel rebars, that will act as a protection barrier against waves. This structure of caissons, 26 meters high and 10,000 tons in weight each, will be the basis for the extension of 6 hectares of a new district of the city to the sea.
In the photographs you can see the assembly work of these stainless steel rebars, made by the company SENDIN, manufacturer of the reinforcements in its plant in Teruel, Spain, with stainless steel rebars type duplex EN 1.4362, supplied by Roldan SA, which with its high resistance to corrosion in the presence of seawater chlorides, they will be able to assure the great durability and sustainability that this type of Project requires.
