CeMAT strengthens the packaging sector

Collaboration between Deutsche Messe AG and Easyfairs Deutschland GmbH

Deutsche Messe AG is strengthening the packaging technology business segment at CeMAT 2016 with the Empack and Label&Print trade fair programmes.

Representatives of Deutsche Messe have signed a strategic partnership agreement with Easyfairs Deutschland GmbH under which Empack and Label&Print will in future be organised as guest events at CeMAT.

They will appear in this format for the first time in Hanover from 31 May to 3 June 2016 - the event organisers are expecting around 200 exhibitors across 10,000 m2 of floor space.

"This cooperation enables us to take a targeted approach to increasing the representation of the packaging segment at CeMAT, the leading global intra-logistics trade fair. In doing so, we will be able to reach additional exhibitor and visitor groups,"

said Wolfgang Pech, Deutsche Messe AG Division Head, at a press conference in Hamburg on 28 January.

"Intelligent integration of these two packaging trade fair programmes into CeMAT will provide our visitors with significant added value."

The Easyfairs Group enjoys industry-wide recognition as an expert in the packaging business. Of all the trade fair companies active in the packaging sector today, Easyfairs has the fastest growing network in Europe with 27 trade fairs in 10 countries, adding up to about 35,000 visitors and 2,500 exhibitors.

Empack, which focuses on packaging technologies, is one of Easyfairs' most established trade fair brands. Its exhibitors include all suppliers of packaging equipment and machinery. The Label&Print brand, launched in 2014, is oriented towards printing and finishing technologies.

"This cooperation with Deutsche Messe provides our customers with a range of new opportunities within a successful, established international intra-logistics trade fair environment. Given that transport packaging, storage, safety and general intra-logistics processes are the essential core of the packaging industry, this agreement will result in numerous synergies for both parties,"

adds Martina Hofmann, Event Director DACH, Easyfairs Deutschland GmbH.

Following CeMAT, Empack and Label&Print will take place as independent trade fairs every other year in Hanover.

The CeMAT events are a venture by Deutsche Messe to provide the intra-logistics industry with exceptional trade fair platforms in key markets to showcase their products and innovations to the public in their respective countries and regions.

They are an offshoot of CeMAT in Hanover, the most important trade fair for intra-logistics and supply chain management in the world. Held every two years, the next event will take place from 31 May to 3 June 2016. From innovative, energy-saving forklift trucks and floor conveyors to complex, fully automated conveyor, racking and storage systems to the latest developments from the IT sector, all facets of the intra-logistics industry are represented at CeMAT in Hanover.

Cranes, hoists, elevated work platforms, auto-ID systems, robot logistics and intra-logistics packaging technologies are also present. New areas include port/harbour and transport logistics.
