Boa Concept, specialist in smart modular conveyor, provides innovative solutions for order picking, packaging and production in light and heavy loads. The company focuses on customer relationship by being initiator of new ideas and proposing innovative solutions. Its slogan : SMART SOLUTION FOR SMART HANDLING, illustrates its skills as global solutions integrator .
Dr. Gab's, bottles, pallets, and conveyors !
In 2001, Gabriel, Reto and David, who are still in charge, founded the Brewery Doctor Gab's* in Savigny (Switzerland). Created by the 3 childhood friends in a kitchen, the Dr. Gab’s Brewery has developed over the years : today, it is a team of about twenty people divided between production, logistics, sales, administration and marketing.
In April 2018, Boa Concept will install equipment composed of 9 straight modules Plug-and-Carry® Heavy Load and a Qimarox MK10 elevator at the new Puidoux site east of Lausanne to meet the brewer's strong growth. This last one produced indeed, 40 000 liters 5 years ago, today, it is more than 700 000 liters which are produced and the forecasts ensure that 1 000 000 liters will soon leave this new brewery.
Heavy loads at all levels…
The heavy load handling line will be divided into two parts: on the ground floor, incoming empty bottle crates are transported to the first floor, where bottling takes place. The full bottle crates then come back down to level 0. For this application, several elements were decisive: the conveyor had to be able to operate in both directions of travel and safety had to be ensured by non-physical barriers. The whole project will be piloted and managed by Boa Concept. It should also be noted that on floor deposit modules of Plug-and-Carry® heavy load allow deposit by manual hand pallet truck.
When to success stories meet…
A new contract for Boa Concept with Aroma Zone, online sale website specialised in essential oils pure and natural, vegetal oils, bio hydrolat and cosmetic ingredients. In full growth, Aroma Zone put the automation of its expeditions in the hands of Boa Concept for its 15 000m² site with the smart and modular conveyor Plug-and-Carry®.
AROMA-ZONE was born in 1999 by the bright idea of Valérie et Anne Vausselin, engineers: Generalize essential oils and propose to women and men to make themselves their beauty products. Now, Aroma Zone is a full growth company with a turnover about 42 million euros in 2015 (+ 40%) which require to rationalize logistic on its expeditions site based in Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne in the Vaucluse department.
“About 1600 references are posted each day toward our Parisian store and to our online customers. 70 persons onsite are preparing 4000 parcels per day with peak at 5000 parcels. Our expected growth will put peak at 7000 parcel a day in 2016” precise Valérie Vausselin, CEO of Greenlog (Aroma Zone holding).
A modular approach which respond to companies in full growth needs
That was necessary to invest in a modular solution for order expeditions: “our growth and the online sales development push us to invest in a qualitative and modular solution for our order expeditions. We chose Boa Concept for its modular approach which answered perfectly our requirements as a full growth company” go on Valérie Vausselin.
The project includes 3 automated tray erectors, feeders for notices deposit at the launching post, another feeder for delivery note, a double line to close parcels with volume reduction machines, dynamic weighting post, automatic labelling per transporters with a sorting per destination. It will be commissioned in September 2016. “We are very happy and proud to be chosen by Aroma Zone for this project which smell good essential oils.” add Sylvia Monteagudo, development director at Boa Concept.
BOA CONCEPT realized in 2015 an activity much higher than its Business plan’s forecast. The company close its 2015 fiscal year with a turnover 3,5 M€ and a positive result. Let us recall that a balance had already been achieved in 2014, with, at this time, a growth about 180%. 2015 establish with a growth about 230 %.
Several contracts contributed to this activity: DEPOT-BINGO in Oise department, e-commerce services provider, with a wrapping line, then, OREXAD in Aisne department, a big industrial and technics supplies distributor, with an intralogistics system installed and started in 4 weeks in august. During the same month, MERSEN in Lyon region, with the intralogistics system of the European platform installed and started in two weeks, and finally, LOGSYTECH GROUP in Parisian region, distributor provider for SFR and Numéricable, with an order picking system adapted for « box ».
Otherwise, illustrating the modularity of its smart and modular conveyor, Plug-and-Carry®, BOA Concept realized several evolutions and extensions, particularly for its e-commerce clients.
The company continue to invest in R&D more than 10 % of its turnover with new development as much on enrichment of the Plug-and-Carry® range as on the electronic cards evolutions to pilot traditional handling systems. New tools are also under development on the Boa Drive supervision software.
