Jane Banks is Business Development Manager at the Science Council, a membership organisation for Professional Bodies and Learned Societies for Science. The Science Council hold the professional registers for practicing scientists and science technicians. RsciTEch, Rsci, Csci and Csciteach.
Jane was born in NZ and trained in early childhood education before pursuing a career in the not for profit sector. Prior to joining the Science Council in 2016 Jane worked in corporate fundraising at the BHF, a charity dedicated to heart research and support for heart patients. Prior to this Jane was Head of Corporate Services at the Charities Aid Foundation. A charity focused on the capacity building of charities and assistance to donors, both corporate and individual, enabling them to give more.
With over 30 years’ experience in management, communications and marketing, working in, or in support of, the voluntary sector. Jane is passionate about personal and professional growth and development and is currently an executive coach in the not for profit sector.
Jane is a non-executive director on the ASOS Foundation Board. The ASOS Foundation provides infrastructure, training and support to enable disadvantaged young people reach their potential and on the committee of the Institute of Fundrasing (IoF) Learning and Development Committee.
