Andras T.Peller, Director, Swiss Fire Protection

Andras T.Peller is the Director and Co-founder of Swiss Fire Protection Research and Development AG. Andras studied as an Economist at the Budapest Business School and built up an IT company in the Entertainment Industry which he was managing for more than 10 years. 

As a seasoned and successful leader, he learned to manage a middle-sized company effectively in a highly competitive international market. Being enthusiast for technological advancements and for Research and Development, Andras accepted a partner role in an international management consultancy firm, where he became the leader of the IP management branch of the company. Currently he is supervising this group of R&D projects, of which the most interesting are on the field of fire-fighting and disaster management. Andras became an expert in foam firefigthing security technologies, he has a proven track record of IP portfolio management and a solid understanding of patent-application processes from both a legal and technical/scientific standpoint. Current projects include developing new technologies for industrial firefighting and emergency systems.

Chok Vui Shung, General Manager, Stolthaven Singapore

Vui Shung is a trained engineer with 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.  His industrial experience includes shipping, SHEQ and manufacturing as well as terminal operations and management. 

Presently the General Manager for Stolthaven Singapore, Vui Shung has introduced several operating and handling efficiencies across the terminal, including concurrent bunkering and transhipment at Stolthaven Singapore’s jetties; and storage of laden/unladen isotanks at Stolthaven Singapore’s sites at Jurong Island.

These services allow a wide range of bulk liquid and chemicals logistics solutions to be available for customers of Stolthaven Singapore, including shipping, storage tanks and isotanks.  These offer improved the safety and operating efficiencies for the various elements of customers’ supply chains.

In addition, to further improve the safety standards of the terminal, Stolthaven Singapore has also embarked on the Safety Case Regime and became the first storage terminal in Singapore concluding its Safety Case Assessment Conclusion in 2018.

Vui Shung sees that Sustainability and Industrial Revolution 4.0  (IR4.0) as  the next key challenges for the terminal and therefore continuously develops initiatives specifically related to these ; among them the installation of solar panels to support environmental sustainability and data digitisation/analytics for IR4.0. 

Chye Poh Chua, CEO, ShipsFocus

Mr. Chua Chye Poh is the founder of ShipsFocus, a Singapore-based venture studio specializing in petrochemical shipping and maritime technology R&D. He is a member of MPA IMC 2030 Advisory Committee, MPA Maritime Mentor Network and a facilitator of PIER71. Mr. Chua is also an angel investor of BANSEA. His experience in ship operations & brokering spans over 30 years. His interest is in inclusive growth; getting maritime commerce ride the digital wave; and helping maritime SMEs close the digital divide.

Edwin Ebrahimi, Innovation Engagement Leader, Vopak

Edwin joined Vopak in Singapore in 2008 as sales manager for the chemical terminals. In 2011 he moved to Rotterdam Europoort where he worked in the Front Line Execution for more than 6 years, in both logistics and operational management positions. in 2018, he joined Vopak's Digital Innovation Team in Rotterdam as Innovation Engagement Leader. In this role, he aims to bridge the gap between business challenges at the terminals with IT/OT solutions available in the market. Since June last year he moved back to Singapore to lead the Digital Innovation Agenda for the region.




Ian Coker, Market Leader, Oil & Gas, Bureau Veritas

Ian offers more than 15 years’ experience developing solutions that add value across complex assets. He developed a unique skill-set, initially honed as an Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force overseeing the technical aspects of fleet acquisitions and through life asset integrity management. After moving into commercial industry with Worley as an integrity engineer, Ian leveraged his knowledge as asset management and material degradation into providing solutions for asset owners in the oil and gas industry with a focus on maximising value from legacy asset portfolios. Lai Siang Yeong, Regional Assets & Operations & HSSE Manager, Oiltanking Asia Pacific

Siang Yeong is a Chemical Engineer with 20 years’ experience in process engineering in the Petroleum and Petrochemical industry.  His work in MNCs in the Australia and Asia Pacific regions has allowed him to gain wide experience in Operations, Project Management and HSSE, carrying out strategic business planning and development in partnership with the executive leadership teams, as well as helming and delivering fast-paced projects in a cost-efficient and safe manner.

In his current role as the Assets & Operations Manager in Oiltanking Asia Pacific and Safety Case Lead, Siang Yeong has initiated various projects relating to Process Safety Improvement, and the successful acceptance of Oiltanking’s first Safety Case, with another one in the submission phase.

As a firm believer in digitalization and automation, particularly given the intricate and complex operations with high safety requirements within the petroleum and petrochemical industry, Siang Yeong continually strives to drive process improvement in this area.

Patrick Kulsen, Managing Director, Insights Global

Patrick Kulsen is managing director at Insights Global, consisting of PJK International and TankTerminals.com. He currently has the role of general manager and senior consultant. In 2006 Patrick joint PJK as the second person alongside his father Pieter Kulsen. Together with his farther he managed to grow the company to its current form. In 2013 he officially acquired the company and in 2016 PJK and TankTerminals.com merged into one company.

Curiosity to understand commodity industries and ambitions to grow the business are his main professional drives. His broad academic and technical education highlights this intrinsic motivation to look at subjects from all angles, to innovate and to seek intellectual challenges.  

As general manager, Patrick is responsible for daily and long term business of the whole group. After integration and reorganizing TankTerminals.com and PJK into one coherent business the accelerated growth of the new company is now his main focus.

For various clients active in oil trading, oil products/chemicals distribution and at tank storage companies, Patrick heads market research and consultancy projects. Recent projects focused mainly on market and commercial Due Diligence of tank terminal assets up for sale.

Patrick has degrees in Quantitative Finance (MSc.), Industrial Engineering (MSc.) and Mechanical Engineering (B).

Paul Hickin, Associate Director, Platts

Paul Hickin is Director, EMEA Oil News and Analysis. Paul joined Platts in 2016 and heads up EMEA content on the oil news and analysis desk. Prior to his work at Platts, Paul was at Fitch Ratings where he was instrumental in developing their FitchWire News service. Before that, he worked at the Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires in various roles covering oil, equities, economics and international news. He has also worked as an economist. Paul holds a Masters degree in Social and Political Philosophy from The University of Sussex and a Bachelors degree in Business Studies from City University.

Sridhar Ramamurthy, Downstream Advisor

Mr. Sridhar Ramamurthy is a Chemical Engineer with post graduate qualification in Industrial Engineering and a MBA with specialization in Finance. He has over 38 years of experience in Petroleum industry and worked in different capacities and handled assignments in logistics, Product distribution, Supply Chain Management and Profit Centre Head functions in the downstream sector of Petroleum Business.

Till recently, he was a consultant in Reliance Industries Ltd Group in India to advise on investment proposals on evacuation facilities/ distribution safety for Petrochemicals/Petroleum Business groups.

He has to his credit of conceptualizing and developing a distribution system and efficient supply chain management system for one of the largest petroleum refinery in India and successfully commissioned and operated five state of the art petroleum product terminals in India. He has done presentation of papers in national and international seminars on Supply Chain Management, Productivity and Health Safety Environment   pertaining to Oil industry.

Currently he is a freelance consultant to advise on petroleum and petrochemical industry matters and in addition was also associated with few management education institutions as Guest lecturer.

Sushant Gupta, Research Director, Asia Pacific, Refining & Oils market

Sushant Gupta

Sushant has over 15 years of experience in the energy industry with strong focus on refining, crude oil and chemicals industry. He established and grew Wood Mackenzie’s downstream oils/refining research practice in Asia. 

Sushant heads up the team in Asia which is responsible to pull together the analysis of the key trends and issues in the oils and refining market both regionally and globally. 

Sushant has authored a series of research and consulting reports, which creates great commercial value to the clients. Sushant is a recognized expert in refining and oils market and is often interviewed by Media such as CNBC, Reuters, Bloomberg, and Wall Street Journal. He is regularly invited to deliver keynote speeches for many industrial conferences and discussion with senior clients.

Sushant joined Wood Mackenzie in 2007 after working for five years with Singapore Refining Company where he gained extensive experience in crude evaluation and purchase, refinery production planning, refinery economics, and product supply planning.

He also has over three years of experience with Schenectady International group – India, a leading petrochemicals manufacturer in India.

Sushant holds a First class masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Singapore.
