The Timken Company engineers, manufactures and markets bearings, transmissions, gearboxes, belts, chain and related products, and offers a spectrum of powertrain rebuild and repair services to improve reliability and efficiency of machinery and equipment all around the world. Known for its quality products and collaborative technical sales model, Timken posted $2.9 billion in sales in 2015. With more than 14,000 employees operating from 29 countries, Timken makes the world more productive and keeps industry in motion.
Spherical roller bearing solid block housed units are made from steel rather than cast iron, which allows them to perform a lot better when subjected to heavy shock loads. The ends of the feet on the pillow blocks are machined, which allows the keeper plates to fit more tightly to the housing for one-time shaft alignment. All piloted flange units have withdrawal holes to allow for removal without breaking housings. They can replace almost any roller bearing unit with solid housing. They fit 40 to 180 mm shafts and come in various housing designs: two-bolt pillow block, four-bolt pillow block, flange block. Choose triple lip seals in Nitrile or Urethane for low speed wet or harsh environments, and a Teflon labyrinth seal is available for high speed applications or when dealing with high temperatures. Every bearing will accept a secondary cover, available in open or closed configuration, which bolts to the housing achieving three barriers to each side of the bearing. All units specified with the Teflon labyrinth seal are supplied with a pressure relief valve designed to prevent over-lubrication.
The Timken® Revolvo Quick Series makes installation of split cylindrical roller bearings easy for applications with limited access. The first-of-its-kind angled support pedestal cleverly reduces installation time up to 90 percent. In some cases, only one person is needed. Plant operations throughout Europe are already benefiting from lower maintenance costs for applications like fans, conveyors, crushers, kiln drives and marine propulsion shafts. Revolvo Quick Series was first introduced to selected markets in 2014. Inspection and maintenance are fast and simple with the Quick Series. The support caps and housing components are easy to remove for quick visual inspection. Seven different concentric seal designs ensure customers can find the right option to get the most from their equipment even in harsh environments. The complete line of Revolvo split-to-the-shaft cylindrical roller bearing housed units allow the bearing to be assembled around the shaft without requiring access to the shaft ends.
The full portfolio of spherical roller bearings includes sizes through 1250mm bore and several features which lead to longer bearing life: Improved profiles designed to reduce internal stresses and optimize load distribution to minimize wear. Longer rollers give more surface area to carry the load, allowing our customers to do more and operate with higher loads. Enhanced surface finishes can result in improved lube film, which avoids metal-to-metal contact to keep things running cooler. Hardened steel cages are designed to deliver greater fatigue strength, increased wear resistance and tougher protection against shock and acceleration.
