VCI/VpCI's are compounds which protect against corrosion through the vapor-phase. These active compounds are soluble in water which allows them to be absorbed from the surrounding atmosphere onto the test strip. This VCI/VpCI Vapor Detection Test Kit is specifically developed for detecting the presence of vapor-phase corrosion inhibitors (VCI/VpCI) emitted from various corrosion inhibiting products: paper, foam, powders, oil- & waterbased rust preventatives, water-treatmend products, etc.
Corrosorber VpCI Paper is a tarnish inhibiting packaging paper specifically for precious metals such as silver, gold and tin. Corrosorber VpCI Paper is a unique product; one side of the paper has a special coating that scavenges or seeks out H2S gas. When a significant amount of H2 S gas has been absorbed by the paper, the paper will change color from light green to brown. Corrosorber absorbs hydrogen sulfide and other corrosive gasses. Corrosorber will not interfere with VpCI protection, but instead will help absorb the gases that cause corrosion. Metals are readily attacked by gases such as hydrogen sulfide, volatile mercaptans, etc. Severe damage or failures occur due to the presence of these corrosive species. by NANO-VpCI, the latest advancement in vapor phase corrosion inhibiting technology. NANO-VpCI emit fromthe device and saturate the enclosure via diffusion, filling all void spaces and recessed areas with protective vapor molecules. These molecules are attracted to and adsorb onto metallic surfaces resulting in the formation of nanofilms, very thin microscopic molecular layers of corrosion protection. The nanofilms formed do not adversely affect or alter the appearance, conductivity, or optical functionality of the components protected.
