MACSA ID is a business that provides solutions to meet the coding, identification, and traceability needs of its clients. Macsa combines different technologies, both hardware and software, services, consumables, and other supplies for manufacturing enterprises in sectors as diverse as food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, automotive, or electronic. MACSA ID’s central offices are located in Sant Fruitós de Bages, but Macsa has offices in United Kingdom, Portugal, China and Singapore as well.

  • Macsa ID has moved to a new building

    The new headquarters is an emblematic building of the nineties of 10.000 m2 built on a plot of 16,000 m2. In it, they are centralized all the activities of the company, which before were distributed in 4 different locations.

    The new Macsa ID plant is located in the Pla Industrial Estate of Santa Anna in Sant Fruitós de Bages, in the province of Barcelona.

    Macsa ID currently employs 130 people between this headquarters and the various delegations, both nationally and internationally, such as Portugal, Singapore, China, the United Kingdom and Mexico.



    In the Company of the Year with a turnover of up to 25 million euros category

    - At the previous awards it was recognised as one of the five most innovative companies in Europe at a ceremony held in Athens in May 2014.

    Manresa, 8 September 2014- MACSA ID, a family business from Manresa specialising in laser traceability, coding and marking, has been chosen as the national award winner in the “Company of the Year” category (for companies with a turnover of up to 25 million euros) after a first selection of candidates for the 8th European Business Awards 2014/2015. The “Company of the Year” category (up to 25 million euros) recognises the company that has produced both sound financial results and growth and adopted innovation and leadership strategies in its sector. The panel of judges pays special attention to a company's ability to modernise, its ethical behaviour, its good relations with its stakeholders and its business planning, together with its ability to offer consistent results in a constantly changing market.

    In an event at the European Parliament
    - Macsa is one of the 20 best Spanish companies to work at and it is in position 131 in the general European ranking.
    - This award is a recognition to the companies that in crisis time continue growing and creating job.

    Manresa, March 25th 2013.- On last Thursday 21st Macsa, a family-run company located in Manresa specialized in laser coding, marking and traceability solutions, was chosen by IESE Business School and Europe’s 500 as one of the best companies to work at. In the event which took place in Brussels both entities decided to recognize the work of entrepreneurial companies capable to create job in recession time and becoming Europe’s motor.

    During the award ceremony in the European Parliament, 150 companies were priced for their growth and contribution to job creation between 2009 and 2011, being 23.000 the total number of jobs created. Macsa is among the 20 Spanish companies that have succeeded in increasing 26% the job creation between 2009 and 2011. In 2012 the average increase was 20%.

    Jordi Piñot, Macsa’s CEO, received the award which places the company from Manresa in the 131st position of the general European ranking. “This award motivates us to keep on investing in R&D since this is what enables us to reach a solid position in an international market which is very competitive: this is the only way to improve, make progress and grow”, he has stated.

    The ranking results prove that the medium-sized companies, having between 100 and 1000 employees, are the most capable to undertake a positive growth and create job in Europe.



    26th edition of the Pimes Awards 2013

    June 11th, 2013- Yesterday, June 10th, Macsa ID, a Manresa based, family business specializing in laser marking, coding, and traceability, was chosen by PIMEC as the Most Competitive Business of 2013 in the category of medium-sized businesses. The presentation of the awards, which value the best business initiatives developed in Catalonia in 2012, had a distinct solidarity as the whole dinner was dedicated to the PIMEC Foundation´s program, emppersona, which helps entrepreneurs who face serious difficulty in their business or activity has been nonexistent.

    Jordi Piñot, CEO of Macsa ID, received the award at the hands of the Honorable President of the Generalitat and the PIMEC president. Piñot, who thanked the judges and the awarding organization, commented that “this award encourages us to continue developing products that suit the needs of companies and respond to market demands.” Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of the R&D in the achievement of the company´s highly competitive position at the national and international level because “we focus on competitiveness based on the investment in R&D because it is the way to achieve the best positioning in the market and incorporate new technologies that position us at the forefront of the industry.”

    The awards were presented to 60 candidates from 51 companies. The categories were: most competitive SMEs, with the subcategories of micro, small, and medium enterprises; most competitive industry; the PIMEC Foundation award for company values, and the linguistic quality in the business world award.

    - The Awards nominated 165 candidates from 85 businesses.

    Manresa, June 25th, 2013.- On June 20th, Macsa ID, a Manresan-based, family-owned business specializing in laser coding, tracing and marking, received the SME of the Year Award which recognizes the international transformation of an SME in 2012. The Credit and Caution Internationalization Awards nominated 165 candidates from 83 businesses in five categories.

    In the case of Macsa ID, the judges favorably valued the growth of the Manresan company, based on a clear commitment to R&D that has allowed it to continue to develop unique products in the market. According to Jordi Piñot, CEO of Macsa ID, “As we compare ourselves to the highest level, we assume that internationalization is a constant challenge for us. However, it also imposes goals and forces us to better ourselves. Receiving this award is very satisfying for us because Credit and Caution wanted to award the effort that it takes for us to improve and become more competitive on the global level,” he affirmed.

    The “Credit and Caution Internationalization Awards” are an initiative of Credit and Caution and they have the cooperation of Expansion (Editorial Unit), IE Business School, and Iberinform. With them, they aim to recognize exemplary business attitudes and Spanish businesses with respect to their international activities. Placing value on successful and sustainable practices that contribute to the economic and social development of our country in a global context, they serve as a reference to the business makeup in the projection of our products and services beyond our borders.

    Manresa, July 30th 2013- MACSA ID, a Manresa based, family business specializing in laser marking, coding, and traceability present in more than 70 countries is the National Champion of the European Business Awards 2012 (www.businessawardseurope.com) in the category Innovation, as recognition of its business growth strategy. After this first stage, in which a National champion has been chosen in each of the 50 participating countries, MACSA ID is in the second stage of the competition. The final winners will be announced at a gala in April 2014.

    The European Business Awards, sponsored by RSM, Infosys, Millicom, BP Target Neutral and with UKTI’s collaboration, are independent awards that acknowledge and promote the excellence, best practices and innovation. The finalists provide success stories which are a way to let the company know to other companies.
