Big data

Big Data is one of the specific themes within the Challenge Arena during Automation. The use of Big Data enables an organization to improve the quality of its business operations and thereby ensure that it remains valuable to stakeholders in the future. Which developments in the field of Big Data is the packaging sector subject to? And how can companies best handle data? Four experts from the sector are happy to share their knowledge and experience.

Human vs Robot

There is also a lot of attention for the developments in robotics. The accelerated acceptance of robotics is one of the most important trends in packaging and palletizing. With the speed and flexibility that robots offer, this trend will continue, but what consequences does this disruptive technology have for organizations?

In collaboration with Art of Robotics, the topic Human vs Robot is discussed extensively in the Challenge Arena and a number of fine examples of collaborative robotics can be seen on the exhibition floor. Under expert guidance, visitors are introduced to the possibilities and they experience how cooperation between humans and robots takes shape.

Multidisciplinary cooperation

One of the overarching topics of Empack, Automation and Logistics and Distribution is collaboration in the chain. Collaboration between various providers in the supply chain is no longer optional, but a bitter necessity. In particular for example as an answer to sustainable solutions. This is discussed extensively at Empack.

On Automation, attention is also paid to the challenges in chain cooperation. Of course the emphasis here is on the automation process, for example the need to have the right attention for cyber security already in the design process. Experts share their experiences and inspire the visitor to come to the next step in chain collaboration.

Consumers are increasingly replacing their own stores with online channels to make their purchases. A shift to online purchases (e-commerce) not only has major consequences for the retail trade, but also for the logistics sector. The logistics behind web shops require other competencies from logistics service providers and traditional logistics. The mobile handling of online orders is indicated by the term 'E-fulfillment'. E-fulfillment is closely related to e-commerce and internet-based.
