Apart from the elaboration of distribution concepts and multimodal conveyor chains in particular decentralized warehouse structures are examined, which are united over co-operation strategies to virtual central warehouses. This can lead to substantial cost savings and offers substantially higher customer service.
Acceptance of logistics systems:
The shortage of realization times of logistics systems is connected also with a reduction of the development and ramp up expenditure. With the help of the simulation technique it is possible to arrange the acceptance and ramp-up more efficient. Thus for example warehouse management software is tested first with a simulator and technical equipment controled by simulation software - before the installation on the constrction site. Thus the installation of new systems is made possible even during operation times.
In production areas scheduling systems for order sequencing and workshop control are used for long time. The supply of appropriate planning instruments in tranport and traffic logistics has been occurred rarely.
