Locals refer to Antwerp as cosmopolitan with a village atmosphere, where you'll find endless shops, museums, squares, architectural delights and terraces. These are all in walking distance, or you can grab one of Antwerp's city bikes (Velos) and enjoy the sites from your saddle.

Antwerp's deep sea port is 80 kilometres inland, not only allowing cruise ships the exceptional opportunity to moor close to the city, but also attracting domestic and seagoing vessels. There are several bus, boat and bicycle tours that take you around the ships, quays, cranes and terminals.

Cathedral of our lady

The most striking feature in the skyline is the the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Cathedral of Our Lady, the highest church tower in Antwerp. As well the MAS, a collection about the world in Antwerp at the Muesum aan de Stroom. From the rooftop, 60 meters above the ground, you can admire the whole city.

Antwerp is home to some spectacular museums: the Middelheim Museum with its park of sculptures, Plantin-Moretus, the first museum to feature on the World Heritage List, The Rubens House, and Antwerp Zoo.

The Jane

The city has many renowned restaurants, from a former chapel housing Michelin-star restaurant The Jane, to the Palace in Meir. A city of innovation, the port's international influence means all cuisines are represented.

Grotew Markt

A visit to the Diamond Square Mile is not to be missed. There are more diamonds in one square mile than in the rest of the world! Peppered across the city, there are plenty of dazzling window displays of goldsmiths and jewellery designers.
