Jose Antonio Alberich, Partner, AT Kearney

José Alberich is a partner with A.T. Kearney. He has more than 20 years of experience working in chemicals, oil and gas, and utilities.

José has significant experience in manufacturing and industrial maintenance strategy, network design and supply chain, sourcing, trading and risk management. His focus in chemicals is on petrochemicals and derivatives, having worked on business transformation, operational improvement, and portfolio strategies for integration across chemical chains. Over the course of his career, José has served clients in Europe, North America, Latin America, and the Middle East across a variety of topics.

He holds a master of science degree in industrial engineering from the Universitat Ramón Llull, Barcelona; a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the Universidad Complutense, Madrid; and an MBA from IESE, Universidad de Navarra. He has published numerous articles and is often quoted in leading technical and economic publications.

Born in the Netherlands (1960), he studied Business Engineering in Eindhoven and Business Economy in Rotterdam and worked for 30 years in the tank storage industry in various senior management positions, amongst others Business Unit President, COO and President. Employed by Pakhoed, Vopak, Argos Oil, Odfjell Terminals and Duqm Petroleum Terminal Company, he demolished, restructured and built terminals (greenfield and brownfield). Geert has been leading negotiations to buy and sell terminals and has also vast experience in negotiations of large storage contracts.  Living in France, he is married and has two children. He loves to go for a run and participates with the Rotterdam Running Ambassadors in marathons around the world.

Mads Hemmingsen, 34 years, works as Head of Trading in Global Risk Management. When he was employed in 2014, Mads’ first task was to start up and streamline the trading desk in the company. Mads is responsible for the trading desk and the trading team which operates as a separate trading unit in Global Risk Management with colleagues in Denmark and Singapore. Before joining Global Risk Management, Mads was at a proptrading desk in a large European trading house for several years. He has more than 10 years’ extensive experience in trading financial derivatives and follows the markets closely on a day-to-day basis.

Tom is widely recognized as a leading practitioner in the global Natural Resources market with over 28 years of commercial exposure gained through broad ranging senior roles in trading, investment, advisory, commodity project management & trade finance.  Roles which have enabled him to gain a holistic industry perspective, covering a full range of supply chain /operations, derivatives, physical markets, funds management and banking & finance and across many countries in Africa, Europe, Middle East, and the Asia Pacific. He holds a Masters Degree in Energy Risk Management from Middlesex University London, and is awaiting the award of DProf PHD in Commercial Risk Management.  Tom has been a member of the Energy Institute since 1991.

As well as having served as a Senior Energy Advisor to the United States Department of Defense (TFBSO), Tom is a prolific published writer, documenting his expertise through a series of books and publications with Wiley and Palgrave Macmillan. Alongside his commercial roles he has been able to share his experiential learning with industry peers & students through various advisory & academic appointments.

Tom has setup the risk management in energy and commodities for many end users in roles at Credit Lyonnais Bank, Credit Agricole Bank and Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi in Asia and Europe.

Tom moved to Singapore to establish both Navitas Resources Pte Ltd in 2009 and a global marine fuel procurement & trading system (NR-X) in 2010.  Navitas Resources is a best practice risk management advisory firm covering Energy & Commodity markets. In 2016 he co-founded NR Capital to create a Trade Finance Solution, offering off balance sheet assistance to SME commodity & energy trading firms looking for funding solutions for shipments and storage of commodities and prepayment structures.  NR Capital operates a digital platform to reduce costs and make transactions more secure, utilising electronic Bills of Lading and Title registry and digitally signed physical supply agreements.

 Mr. Mukesh Parikh is associated with Global Maritime Industry for over 35 years. He has a distinction of having hands on Maritime Industry experience with continuous involvement in Training and Development throughout his distinguished career. Mr. Mukesh Parikh has a post graduate degree in Management with specialization in Marketing and Finance. He attended one year training program Professional Shipping at Norwegian Shipping Academy, Oslo.

During his career of 18 years in the Shipping industry, Mr. Mukesh Parikh worked for Ports, International Ship owners, Ship operators, Shipping Agencies in Liner, Containerized and Bulk shipping business. During this period, he organized a number of Training Programs in the Middle East, South East Asia and Indian sub-continent.

A sound foundation of Shipping Industry and clear understanding of market and customer requirement and expectations from service providers enabled Mr. Mukesh Parikh to build the next phase of his career in Ports and Terminal Industry. He made major contribution to Establish Standard Operating Procedures for the entire spectrum of Operations in the Port. Ms. Ruhotas has over 25 years of experience in Engineering, Safety and General Operational Management. She has Board and Operational level experience in the terminals sector including expertise in all aspects of Terminal Operations for a full range of products as well as in-depth engineering design, construction and project management of all aspects of chemical, LPG and petroleum storage systems. Ms. Ruhotas also has extensive experience working in China, forming, developing and managing joint ventures, working with Chinese shareholders, customers and government authorities and suppliers.

Previously, Ms. Ruhotas was the Regional Director for Stolthaven Terminals in Asia-Pacific and General Manager Stolthaven China (Stolt Nielsen group). Prior to Stolt, Ms. Ruhotas was General Manager with Pacific Terminals Australia and China, Operations Manager with Email Limited (Petroleum Division) and Engineering Services Manager with BP Australia Limited. Ms. Ruhotas received a Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical/Industrial from the University of New South Wales, graduating with First Class Honours. She also received a MBA and Bachelor of Law from Macquarie University and graduated with First Class Honours.

Cyril Widdershoven is a veteran global energy market expert and founder of Verocy. He holds several advisory positions at various international think tanks and Western energy firms. Dr. Widdershoven, with his regional expertise in Africa and the Middle East, oversees the Mediterranean Energy Political Risk Consultancy. Across the MENA region, he has been heavily involved in the oil and gas sectors throughout his career, holding positions at Capgemini Consulting (Principal Consultant Centre of Excellence Oil and Gas International (Calgary, Canada), Deloitte Financial Advisory Services (Senior Manager, Oil & Gas), and as Senior Financial Analyst Oil & Gas Sector FDA, where he managed and advised the oil and gas department on equity and bond markets.

Dr. Widdershoven has led energy publications, including North Africa Oil and Gas Magazine (now called Petroleum Africa), the Middle East Oil Gas Newsletter and Africa Oil Newsletter at Newsbase (UK). Over the span of several decades he has lived and worked in Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Sudan, Iraq, and the UAE, and also taken on extended projects for clients in Oman, Iran, Syria, Tunisia, and Turkey. Dr. Widdershoven earned his post graduate degrees at King’s College, University of London, Department of War Studies, and an M.A. in Middle East Studies at the University of Nijmegen, Netherlands.
