Mats

From start to end

To refine and improve both the idea, development and production process is of high importance in today's fast moving business world. In this seminar Mats will talk about his perspective on today's society, his interest in quality and the relation between design and art.

Mats Theselius, one of Swedens most famous visual artist
with international recognition

Tord Gustafsson

Methods of production that will handle the future
requirements in short cycle times, quality inspections and
lower costs.

Synthetic composites that have been developed since 1950
will be replaced by bio-based composite material. In this
seminar Tord will present his thoughts about composites
of natural fibres through an entrepreneurs perspective.

Tord Gustafsson, entrepreneur and founder of companys
within composite- and bio-composite manufacturing.

Materials of the future

New products, new environmental requirements, new opportunities to design materials. The materials of the future looks like before - but also radically different. What place will Sweden take in the race towards the future of the super designed and circular materials?Swerea launched a new report “Materials of the future”, in collaboration with Kairos Future in the summer of 2016. Along with 400 experts from the industry and the academic world, we have researched subjects and future scenarios in materials and material development. This knowledge we want to share with Swedish industry.

Elis Carlström, head of research, Swerea IVF

Marcel

Circular Economy - Sustainable innovation within existing applications.

P & G´s project to turn beach plastic into shampoo bottles – is just one of the examples how to make recycled “packaging waste” streams suitable for prime applications. In the current shift towards a more circular economy recycled plastics can/will play an important role to reduce the environmental footprint as recycled polymers can replace virgin polymers. Shampoo bottles, paint-pails / pails and Baby strollers are just a few of the application that run in these second generation recycled polymers and you’re application could be next.

Marcel van Enckevort, account & application developement
manager, QCP

Sustainable materials of the future - The lifespan and durability of Polymeric Materials

The trend is increasingly moving towards more environmentally friendly, bio-based and recycled polymer materials to meet the demands on resource efficiency, bio-economy and circular material flows. The lifespan and durability of these new and existing materials are often unknown, which can limit the usage and highlights the importance of accessibility and the development of new techniques, standards, processes and systems to enable faster introduction of sustainable materials and products on the market.

Anna Wiktorsson, Tekn Dr, RISE Biovetenskap & Material (previous SP)

3-3.30 pm | 17 of May

Erik Haastrup & Mueller

The 15 most inspiring materials and technologies

Attend this entertaining talk to learn about 15 materials and
technologies that will intrigue and inspire any product
developer. You will learn about a light source that glows for
20 years with no use of electricity, a cheap paper-thin sensor
to detect pressure, paper that can be printed without ink, a
new type of magnets with extraordinary behaviours, a textile
that moves water in only one direction, and much more.

All the materials will be available as physical samples that
you can explore after the talk.

Replace metall with long fibre reinforces PA66, PA6 and PP.

The car industry has driven the development of metall replacement due the requirements of higher safetyness, low emissions and prosperous gaseconomy. Other industrys can also gain working to achieve lower weight and lower enegry of the  processing etc.

Start with their needs: customer-focused design that creates products and services that succeed

Today almost everything is already present on the market. You can no longer create products and services just because "they are cool."  For a solution to be successful it needs to develop from the outside in, close to the customer and with the customer's needs in focus. But what do your customers really want, and how do you proceed with these insights? Zenit Design explains how to work the user-oriented, which methods work and what you gain by putting customer needs first.

Anna Mörk, Design Research Lead, Zenit Design &
Jonas Svennberg, Vd, Zenit Design.

Function Engineering Through Composite Materials

Composites have been always considered as an alternative
material to metal and wood, but what if we would start the
design process of a new product with composites as an
assumption? How would that change the design process and
overall product functionalities? The goal is to open up the
world of possibilities with proper material selection and what composites can bring in the game.

Product Business Owner, Exel Composi
