  • Croxsons’ stunning black bottle for 6 O’Clock Gin’s Limited Edition debut

Leading glass packaging company Croxsons has supplied Bristol based distiller, 6 O’Clock Gin, with a stunning black bottle for their first limited edition gin product - the Brunel Edition.

Since Bramley & Gage’s partnership with Croxsons for the re-launch of their 6 O’Clock gin, the Brunel Edition is the first limited edition gin for 6 O’Clock Gin and is also their first new London Dry Gin. The Brunel Edition is in recognition of the ingenious industrial revolutionary, Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Croxsons supplied the same bottle shape as used for 6 O’Clock Gin but in a black version to create a distinctive, clean and elegant look, providing a perfect backdrop for the intricate copper label designed by Green Chameleon of Bristol.

Michael Kain, head distiller and director of Bramley & Gage/6 O’Clock Gin said: “We’re very proud to be based near Bristol and of the rich heritage of the area. We wanted to make an ultra-premium gin that reflected some of the city’s fine history, as well as referencing our own engineering legacy. Brunel Edition is a bigger, bolder expression of our regular 6 O’Clock Gin, with six extra botanicals.

“Its exotic mix of spices celebrates Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s extraordinary contributions to engineering and world travel. We’re very proud to have created such a delicious product and to be able to present it in such a fantastic looking bottle. Croxsons has delivered a smooth service and we are delighted with the end result.”

Croxsons’ Tim Croxson said; “We have been supplying 6 O’Clock Gin with their distinctive blue bottles since they repackaged and rebranded two years ago, however the black Brunel bottle really is quite a unique project. We are seeing lots of customers looking to differentiate and to release super-premium editions. 6 O’Clock Gin’s limited edition bottle has broken away from convention particularly with the addition of the simple yet striking copper label, proving that sometimes less is more. We look forward to being involved in future projects with 6 O’Clock Gin as they continue to develop innovative and unique products.”

Following advanced and pre-orders, the Brunel Edition was officially launched on 19th July and is available at the Bramley & Gage website and specialist gin retailers.

  • Croxsons produce stylish new bottle for Ginscape

Leading glass packaging company Croxsons has produced a stunning bottle design for Ginscape™ sea buckthorn London dry gin.

Danish company, Scape Spirits aps, distills and packages its gin in the UK, but maintains a distinctly Danish twist that is evocative of Denmark’s famous hygge culture. Scape Spirits aps’ aim was to develop a smooth and balanced gin with the clear touch of total freedom like being at the seaside - the total escape. They believe they have found the answer with their Ginscape sea buckthorn London dry gin and, of course, this special gin needed a very special bottle.

Croxsons, who has been supplying glass packaging and closure solutions for 145 years, was the first port of call for Scape Spirits aps’ founder and owner, Hans Christian Kjaergaard-Hansen, who said; “Working with Croxsons has been a very professional and smooth process. Once we established that they could source and supply the 11,000 bottles needed for our first batch, the team took their time to ensure the print was absolutely right at sample stage, and following approval they went straight in to production. We wanted a transparent bottle that was different and would really stand out on shelf; it is safe to say that we are incredibly satisfied with the outcome of the finished product.”

The complex decoration on the 700ml bottle includes a graduated spray coat on the front panel with a three colour screen print on top - the back panel was left clear to accommodate a label. In a bold and eye-catching design by Creactive Graphics, Cambridge, the colours fully match the customer’s brief.

Croxsons’ Tim Croxson said: “It has been really interesting working with this unique Danish gin distiller. Their passion for gin has been clear from the outset; combine this with our passion for producing stunning packaging and you can expect nothing less than outstanding results. The bottle really does reach out to the consumer with its bright colours and creative design.”

Ginscape sea buckthorn London dry gin is due to be privately launched at an exclusive gathering in Copenhagen on May 5th, while the public launch will take place at the Copenhagen Gin Festival at Politikens Hus, on May 19th.

  • Croxsons delight Yarty with superior packaging solution

In creating their premium glass packaging, award winning artisan fruit cordial brand, Yarty, say that Croxsons have “helped fulfil the impossible”.

Once described by US actor, Johnny Depp, as “England in a bottle….”, Yarty’s cordials are handmade using the finest fruit, hand-bottled and hand-labelled to create a truly artisan drink. Known for their quality and exclusivity, Yarty’s cordials are the fruit drink of choice for top-end events and the corporate market.

Acknowledging that their current glass packaging didn't adequately reflect the quality of their product, Yarty reached out to Croxsons to provide a premium solution in two different sizes: 250ml and 750ml for retail and trade sales. In creating a unique and stylish look, Croxsons supplied a bottle design that fully complements Yarty’s requirements - the distinctive ‘Olivia’ bottle, produced exclusively by specialist manufacturers Saverglass, takes its shape from containers used in ancient times for the conservation of liquids.

To finish the packaging to a high standard, Croxsons included heat-sealed capsules branded with the Yarty ‘Y’ logo on top.

Yarty co-founder and marketing director, David Mugridge said: “As a family business, nothing is too much trouble for Croxsons. With their exceptional knowledge and attention to detail, they have supplied us with exactly what we were after. The Olivia bottle has the perfect curve and is unique - particularly so as we are the only business in the UK currently using it. ”

Croxsons has been supplying a broad base of clients ranging from artisanal producers to seasoned, multinational brand owners, with glass packaging and closure solutions for nearly 145 years. Their faultless commitment to quality continues to provide leading brands with unique packaging solutions - from collaboration, design and container, to closures, decoration and logistics, their ‘customer journey’ seeks to ensure clients get their product in the right bottle, with the right closure.

They provide us with a wide range of glass bottles and are always able to adapt to our ever changing needs. Their flexibility is excellent and we work well with their experienced team. They are also members of the UKVA which clearly indicates Croxsons commitment to the industry.”

  • Croxsons celebrates success of Eden Mill’s ‘12 Gins of Christmas’ stylish miniatures

Leading glass packaging company Croxsons has produced a unique glass miniature with swing stopper for Eden Mill’s festive 12 Gins of Christmas gift set.

Eden Mill’s story began in St Andrews in 1810, when the legendary Haig distillers first laid down whisky at the site they now use today. In 2012, they resurrected that proud tradition of crafting and are proud to be Scotland’s first combined brewery and distillery.

Following the overwhelming success of the 2015 ‘12 Gins of Christmas introductory launch’, Eden Mill has placed orders with Croxsons for 140,000 bottles, equating to around 11,600 gift packs, almost quadruple the original order quantity. Each pack contains 12 different flavours including; Apple & Cinnamon, Mulled Gin, Blueberry and Vanilla, Spruce & Cranberry, Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire, and Candy Cane.

Croxsons created the stylish miniatures, which come in 50ml or 100ml sizes, with a unique baby swing stopper that is precision printed with the company branding, thereby adding to the premium look and feel of the product. The miniature bottles replicate Eden Mill’s larger range, ensuring brand awareness and consumer advocacy.

In addition to the 12 Gins of Christmas range, the bottles are used individually in Eden Mill’s Christmas Crackers; containing one miniature of gin and one distillery tour voucher.

Victoria McLaren, marketing manager at Eden Mill said: “As a highly innovative and fast-paced company, we often convert aspirational concepts into technical challenges for our suppliers; therefore, we rely on our business partners to be flexible and efficient. Croxsons’ has played a major role in enabling us to meet cutting edge deadlines on a number of occasions, particularly in regards to our high demand ‘12 Gins of Christmas’ product.”

  • Croxsons create distinctive primary packaging for artisan gin newcomer

Leading glass packaging company Croxsons, has produced a distinctive new bottle product for the House of Elrick, a newcomer to the premium spirits market.

Producing just 600 bottles per batch, the House of Elrick is located on an historical estate in Aberdeenshire and is the only artisan small batch gin producer that uses fresh, filtered water straight from Loch Ness.

In creating the primary packaging, Croxsons used the luxurious look and feel of the 700ml Little Pasha bottle, a design created and produced exclusively by specialist manufacturers, Saverglass. The bottle was then sprayed in a matt blue finish and screen printed with silver ink to communicate a unique and distinctive appeal. The result is both simple and bold in its execution, providing the House of Elrick with maximum shelf stand-out and, according to brand owner Stuart Ingram, “…a final glass product that matches our own exceptional liquid and heritage.”

In addition to the 700ml version, which is due to be released prior to Christmas, Croxsons are also working with Saverglass on new capacity options including a miniature 50ml and a 350ml version of the same artwork. There is also the possibility of a 3L version due in the new year.

“As a new entrant to the Industry, having partners in business that understand the clients requirements is key to any working relationship, Croxsons have managed to address all concerns during the course of our product development,” added Ingram.

A family owned business, Croxsons has been supplying glass packaging and closure solutions for nearly 145 years. Their faultless commitment to quality continues to provide leading brands with unique packaging solutions - from collaboration, design and configuration, to closures, decoration and logistics, their ‘customer journey’ seeks to ensure clients get their product in the right bottle, with the right closure.

Croxsons’ Tim Croxson said: “The fantastic packaging for the House of Elrick speaks volumes about what can be achieved irrespective of whether you are a large or small producer. There should be no compromise in aiming to create maximum impact on shelf and, as a packaging partner, Croxsons will always encourage that.”

The company recently underwent a complete brand refresh including a new logo, website and associated collateral. The makeover was undertaken to provide a fresh and contemporary insight into the company’s product and service capabilities.
