Marcel Keuenhof - European Packaging manager bij Wessanen

About Marcel Keuenhof

Marcel studied Industrial Product Design at The Hague University, graduating in Packaging Technology in 2001. Ever since he has been working in the packaging / FMCG industry; in various roles and at various companies. He started out on the side of packaging manufacturing (folding cartons, glass jars & bottles), before moving to the brand-owner side of the industry in 2008. He joined Heinz , where he fulfilled a number of different packaging-related roles, linking R&D, Marketing, Quality, Supply Chain, Purchasing and Continuous Improvement in European & global projects.

This experience, combined with his long-time membership & active role in the Association of Dutch Packaging Technologists and his volunteer role as Food Safety coach for the Dutch Union of Foodbanks, has proven very useful in his current role as European Packaging manager at Wessanen, a company focusing on healthy & organic food, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Besides being passionate about packaging, literature, languages & his children, he likes to think of himself as a ‘green’ thinker. Wanting to put these ideas into action, he is actively exploring - e.g. in discussion panels & lectures - the role of packaging in our current & future society, including the ‘waste paradox’ that surrounds packaging in relation to food(waste) & sustainability...
