Companies will be on site to meet hundreds of distributors, purchasing managers, buyers and retailers who are hungry for new opportunities and in search of high quality and up-and-coming food and drink companies.
Ireland remains the UK’s largest export market for food and drink products. In 2011, UK food and drink exports to Ireland amounted to £3.1bn. With cultural similarities, close sea and air links, the same language and similar regulatory frameworks - Ireland is an ideal market for UK companies to export to.
The British Government is encouraging more companies to start exporting for the first time and Ireland is an ideal first step market in this sector as well as many others.
Ireland is the UK's fifth largest export market and the UK's largest export market in sectors such as food & drink and clothing, fashion & footwear, with other sectors continuing to grow. In 2011 total trade in goods and services from the UK to Ireland was £27.4bn.
‘A Taste of Britain’ is a two day development visit to Ireland taking place 26 and 27 September organised by UK Trade and Investment. ‘A Taste of Britain’ is sponsored by Ulster Bank, O'Rourke Reid, RSM Tenon, RSM Farrell Grant Sparks, Aer Lingus, the British Irish Chamber of Commerce and SHOP.
