Mohamend Merican is a Lead Consultant with TRI-ZEN, an Asia-focused, Singapore based, oil and gas advisory business with a global network of industry experienced people. He has over 40 years of experience in the energy industry.
 
His early career was with some of the worlds' largest integrated oil companies before he joined a storage company. He has held roles with broad responsibilities, including business team leadership, strategic planning, refining, operations & marketing, shipping & storage and business development.

He is frequently invited to speak at industry conferences and regularly contributed to regional and international media on energy issues.

Karl graduated from the Antwerp Maritime Academy, studied at the Oxford College for Petroleum Studies, the Vlerick Management Institute and is a certified Safety Officer.

After a short stint at sea as a Deck Officer, Karl spent his career in the storage business. He held management positions in Katoennatie and Oiltanking. Since 1999 he has been based in China and has been involved in several major terminal projects. For Stolt-Nielsen he initiated the grass roots terminal projects in Tianjin and Ningbo (Daxie). In 2003, Karl established Taurus Enterprise in Shanghai, providing consultancy for a.o. LBC terminals, Oiltanking, Stolt-Nielsen and today is involved in consulting projects as well as in import/export activities. Karl lived and worked in North, South and East China and is well acquainted with the storage business in China.

Alex has over 20 years of investment banking and strategy consulting experience all focused on the energy and mining industries.

Alex worked at Paribas in corporate banking, equity capital markets and M&A for nine years, focused on the energy and mining sectors, before becoming a founder of AWR Lloyd. Alex has worked with Asian clients for 17 years managing assignments in India, China, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand.

Since 2000, Alex has been in charge of AWR Lloyd's Coal and Midstream & Downstream Oil practices. In the Coal industry he has been the core strategic and financial advisor to Banpu for 12 years helping them grow from a small conglomerate to one of the Asia-Pacific's leading coal producers today, with operations in Indonesia, Australia, China, Mongolia, Thailand and Laos. In the Oil sector, Alex has focused on supporting the development of oil terminal, storage and refinery projects in Southeast Asia - particularly in Vietnam and Thailand. He has also recently launched a new energy supply chain venture with private equity backing called Indochina Energy, which is focused on investment in oil terminals, coal terminals and related supply chain and logistics businesses.
 
Alex was educated at the London School of Economics and Oxford University in economics and history. He has lived in Bangkok since 2001.

Brent Cooper is the Terminal Operations Manager for Z Energy (formerly Shell NZ) in Wellington, New Zealand. Brent has worked in the terminals industry as both an engineer and an operations manager for 13 years and is a chartered professional engineer.

Brent's role within Z is to develop and execute Z's terminal strategy, and to ensure that Z's terminal asserts are operated and maintained safely and efficiently by the joint venture companies that operate the assets.

Colin Allcard is Managing Director of the newly formed Channoil Asia Limited. He joined Shell International after graduating and worked in various Group companies for nearly 30 years. As a general business manager, his career has been primarily commercially focused in senior management roles in the main downstream oil sectors, namely oil products marketing, international sales and products and crude oil trading.

His roles have taken him outside the UK, where he enjoyed over 15 years' experience of field-based overseas assignments in a wide range of business environments, including the Middle East, USA and several African countries.

More recently, Colin has undertaken a wide range of consultancy work focusing on marketing, supply/trading, business restructuring, privatisation projects and transactions, including: Advising companies on the feasibility of proposed start-up ventures for oil products storage and new international business ventures; working with Governments/ international institutions such as World Bank/IFC on a range of projects such as product supply options/ logistics and downstream oil sector privatisations; and advising prominent international refining and trading companies on business strategies, restructuring, organisation and trading and risk management issues.

Colin also regularly presents at conferences on oil supply and trading issues, participates in industry training seminars and is a visiting lecturer at the Cass Business School, London.

Mr Versluis has 30 years of working experience, most of which has been spent in professional strategy consulting.

Mr Versluis focuses primarily on serving client in the sectors of Energy, Chemicals, Ports, Shipping and Government. He works for clients in Asia and the Middle East on issues related to strategy, development planning, spatial, urban, regional and economic development planning, port development, logistics, shipping, infrastructure development, feasibility studies, corporate & business strategy, transformation and operations restructuring & improvement. In addition to his international consulting experience, he has spent several years in management positions in the manufacturing and construction industries.

He has managed and directed over 50 port development projects in Malaysia, China, Indonesia, the Maldives, Saudi Arabia, Europe and Latin America. During the past couple of years he has worked with virtually all of the ports in the Singapore basin, specialising in demand forecasting and development planning.

Waddah is the Chief EHSQ Compliance Officer for ENOC Group. He is the Chairman of various Committees within the Organization, including the Wellness & Social Activities Program which serves over 6000 employees.

Waddah is an Environmental Engineer graduated from the University of Wales, College Cardiff. Waddah holds a distinction level MSc in Environmental Science from the University of the UAE. He has obtained an Executive MBA through Bradford University in the UK in which he specialized in organizational safety behavior. His current doctorate research work with the Bradford School of Management, Bradford University, UK is focused on operational corporate governance and safety leadership. Waddah has published and presented more than 70 papers and presentations in various conferences and seminars around the world.

Waddah has broad experience and working knowledge of environmental management systems and pollution control; fire and safety compliance and design reviews; development and administration of occupational health management systems; EHS Management Systems Auditing; Job Safety Task Analysis; Total Quality Management and other HSE specificities. He has managed various fire drill exercises and has worked as an observer and facilitator with operating companies and Government Authorities. He frequently, as part of his core job, audits emergency response plans and procedures for facilities. He sits on various committees with Government, educational institutions and technical committees within the ENOC Group. His functional role is the Chief EHSQ Compliance Officer for the Group.
 
Waddah is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Centre for Carbon Excellence (DCCE) PJSC. He is a co-author of a text book “Safety Management, A comprehensive approach to developing a sustainable system”.  He is a Fellow Member of the Energy Institute of the United Kingdom.

Gary is a Project Engineer in Chevron Oronite, a lube oil additive manufacturing plant with a number of storage tanks in Singapore. He has 10 years of control system & instrumentation experience in FEED, detailed design, construction and commissioning for the Petrochemical industry.
  
With Chevron Oronite plant expansion, he has promoted Emerson Tank Master inventory software and integrated it into an existing Process Control Network. To increase the reliability, he has introduced wireless Tank Gauge as a backup path of conventional wired communication.
