DUO PLAST is a leading and highly innovative producer in the packaging film market and produces high quality stretch films for different fields of application. Besides our headquarters in Lauterbach/Germany we run a second production site for blown stretch films in Sünna/Germany that is counted among the most modern in Europe.

Trend-setting load securing with DDK-film - DDK-film sets new standards as stretch film innovation
Going under the slogan "... double edge - double strength!" DUO PLAST presents the DDK-film as a pioneering innovation in the stretch film market at easyFairs 2012. The film has already won "German Packaging Award' and 'PIF Gold Medal 2010'. According to DEKRA Automobil GmbH it signals a new trend in the field of load securing.
DUO PLAST developed as a competent German producer of blown films the DDK. The unique feature of this film is the double edge, which makes it twice as strong and tear-resistant at the edges as conventional films. A 15 µm film for example has at the edges a thickness of 30 µm. This prevents film breaks that begin at the edges in more than 90% of all cases.
DDK-film surrounds pallet like a net
Another very important highlight is the unique net structure that is generated through the wrapping process. This net structure considerably increases the pallet stability. In addition, the double edge realises a smaller necking and so a better overlapping of the film layers. Thanks to this the usually critical pallet bottom and packaged goods are connected optimally.
According to DEKRA DDK-film sets a new trend
Also DEKRA, German specialist in the field of load securing, certifies the film with the double edge excellent properties. With double edge and high mechanical strength, the DDK-film sets a new trend. Companies are increasingly using high-quality stretch film to secure their goods and to protect the load against loss, pollution, and moisture. The new DDK-film contributes according to DEKRA significantly to pallet stability and thus to transport security.
Beyond that the new DDK-film offers many more benefits. A smaller unwinding resistance over the whole roll improves processing, reduces noise and prevents unwanted mechanical stretch. The significantly higher tear resistance and the better maximum extension of the DDK allow a safe handling on fully automatic machines.
Material savings of more than 35 % not uncommon
Essentially the DDK-stretch film offers completely new possibilities. The improved opportunity to reduce the film thickness and the higher elasticity of the DDK-film guarantee significant material savings. A reduction of material consumption of more than 30 - 35% is not uncommon when using the DDK-film. Consequently lower packaging costs and lower disposal costs are the result. Conservation of resources and protection of the environment are further advantages of the unique film innovation.
The unique DDK-film has already caused a lot of excitement in the packaging market. After winning the German Packaging Award 2008, the DDK-film has recently convinced again in terms of cost-effectiveness, environmental sustainability and efficiency: In September 2010, the DDK was awarded with the PIF Gold Medal at the Taropak in Poland.
