Retractable Grounding Assembly (RGA™) - FRT Protection The RGA is a type of bypass conductor between the roof and shell of an FRT. Because it is retractable, it is always as short and straight as possible, and thus provides the lowest possible impedance between the roof and shell. The RGA meets the requirements of API RP 545, The Recommended Practice for Lightning Protection of Aboveground Storage Tanks for Flammable or Combustible Liquids, and of NFPA 780, The Standard for the Installation of Lightning Protection Systems. Like our Dissipation Array System (DAS) the SBI is based on over 25 years of research & development and utilizes similar technology to reduce the risk of direct lightning strikes at the protected site. SBT The Spline Ball Terminal from Lightning Eliminators offers a superior alternative to standard air terminals for new or existing lightning protection systems. Consulting Services Find out what you need first! How this is approached is dependent on your environment, facility and your financial requirements. It can be as simple as a Technical Review of photos, drawings and building plans by our LEC solution specialists in-house and at no cost, which delivers a 'proposal of recommendations' to the client for further investigation at a later date and is preliminary; or more efficiently through a Site Evaluation which includes an on-site visit by one or more LEC solution specialists who study a number of key areas first hand. This visit can range from a one day, to a comprehensive multi-day event for large sites with complex electrical systems. Overall cost is based on the scope and complexity of the site and a Report with Scope of Work is generated. Chem-Rod™ Low-Impedance Chemical Grounding Electrode The Chem-Rod solves problems found with conventional ground rods by requiring less real estate and fewer electrodes to meet specified resistance.
