Packaging series for all-natural children`s cosmetics

When it's time to wash up every day, Karo the Kitty knows what to do: "When little paws get sticky, it's really not so tricky, you can always tell just who has washed them well." That the motto for Tinti GmbH & Co., Europe's leading maker of children's bath time and cosmetics products, in marketing its new natural cosmetics series for children.

To make the daily scrub-down less of a chore and more of an adventure, the STI Group worked together with the manufacturer to develop a suitable packaging line with a secret: once empty, it can easily be converted into a playroom-ready castle.

STI Group puts its expertise with folding boxes to the test

The packaging for children's cosmetics products consists of a shell and a curved, die-punched insert. The edges have a 'battlement' look, and each individual folding box is designed to fit together with its mates into a general castle structure. To ensure safe transport of the product, the packaging specialists at the STI Group opted for a treasure chest shape that children can use for their own valuables in their room.
As befits a high-quality natural cosmetics brand, one that uses natural ingredients from controlled organic production, the packaging series is produced from FSC-certified, recycling-ready materials, thereby ensuring the sustainability of the forestry and the pulp production.

    "Clothing makes the man – packaging makes brands." The team from the STI Group's DesignLab took that motto to heart as it prepared for the upcoming easyFairs 2011 in Amsterdam. The packaging and display specialists were hard at work dreaming up innovative surfaces and enhancement options to complement their new packaging shapes and designs.

    Two innovative new STI Group concepts are ready in time for the CosmeticBusiness exhibition in Munich: 3D varnishes that provide brilliant enhancement of offset printing and the X-Skin Line of extraordinary surfaces for paper-based packaging – in variations running from granite to wood. "Packaging texture and shape play a decisive role in purchasing decisions at the POS," says Dr. Frank Ohle, CEO of the STI Group. "That is especially true for the cosmetics and personal care industry".
