We all know that the aseptic carton is an ideal package for the take-home market for juice, nectars and still drinks. Products with a longer shelf live that taste great and offer great value remain popular and the beverage carton is the ideal pack for these products. But the carton success story does not stop there: Also for liquid and chunky food carton offfers convenience – it is easy to transport, to store, to handle and to dispose off.
In the UK alone, the SIG Combibloc carton is already on the market for various branded and private label custards, soup, chopped tomatoes and other products. Carton is also popular in the food service market, for ice cream mixes and frescatos for example.
There are three good reasons to choose a carton: 1) Renewability, 2) Resource Efficiency, 3) Recyclability. Beverage and Liquid Food Cartons are mainly based on renewable raw material: wood fibres from sustainable forestry. This means that several new seedlings are growing for each tree felled. Cartons are resource efficient along the whole life cycle, from production through to transportation, warehousing etc, all this thanks to their square origin and light weight. The carton is now recyclable with 90% of UK Local Authorities.

Complete perforation opening for food products
Specifically for aseptic food products, SIG Combibloc has introduced carton packs with a perforation all the way across the top. Thanks to the complete perforation, the carton pack can be opened all the way across the top without the use of additional tools and every last drop of the product can be fully emptied out. This handy little touch makes the carton packs from SIG Combibloc particularly suitable for chunky and highly viscous products, which are much easier to empty out of the carton pack if it can be opened all the way.
