ADVANCED DYNAMICS HAS COUNTING MATERIALS DOWN TO A FINE ART
A reputation for counting papers accurately without causing imperfections to the material is why a major UK manufacturer of products for the arts world invested in the latest sheet counting technology from Advanced Dynamics Ltd.
Renowned supplier of art materials Daler Rowney, whose products are exported worldwide, has purchased two of B.Matic’s exciting cutting-edge sheet counting machines from sole UK distributors Advanced Dynamics .
Suitable for a wide range of industries including printing, paper mills, converting and packaging, Italian manufacturer B.Matic’s line of Protec Dual System Sheet Counters uses revolutionary, highly-accurate counting technology it claims causes no damage whatsoever to materials.
Daler Rowney has installed two Protec floor standing machines – the top of the range equipment available from Advanced Dynamics – in its paper and board converting operations. The company has been so impressed with their performance it is planning to purchase two more machines in the future.
The Protec is ideal for businesses engaged in medium to high volume sheet runs. The machine is built to handle almost all types of materials, dimensions, and weights. At Daler Rowney they are handling paper grades ranging from 45gm to 425gm and providing a huge boost to the company’s productivity at its Wareham site, according to plant manager Gerald Hedges. He said: “Before we purchased the new counters from Advanced Dynamics, our old equipment could only handle paper up to 250gm. The B.Matics have speeded the process up and they don’t ‘dog ear’ the material which is ideal. We are now more productive and have a product of far better quality.”
Suitable for counting a variety of items including paper, gift wrap, posters, artists’ materials, cardboard, currency and credit cards, to name but a few, the Protec equipment can handle sizes from A6 – A1 and up to 800gsm thick, at impressive speeds of around a thousand sheets per minute still with no perceptible corner deformation.
Unlike other sheet counters, Protec’s patented twin vacuum technology sorts the sheets from the top of the pile downwards ensuring 100 percent accuracy (with suitable material) according to the manufacturer - crucial to containing costs by preventing undersupply or excess volumes to customers. The machines also provide environmental benefits by reducing the waste caused by damaged materials.
In addition to the Protec floor standing equipment, the Protec Mini is an economical, tabletop counter, perfect for small printing centres and big offices, while Protec Pack Mover’s ability to count and separate sheets directly from the pile is ideal for production lines, such as wrapping and packaging. Advanced Dynamics can also supply the automatic Tab Inserter for subdividing reams, both immediately after printing and on delivery for checking.
A specialist supplier of feeding, wrapping, labelling and bagging solutions, Bradford-based Advanced Dynamics’ innovative new range of equipment is helping the company break into new markets and is turning the task of counting large volumes of materials into an art.
