Corrosion exposed! Detect and destroy - a reality check!

This presentation will elaborate on the problems encountered in the process industry and the practical challenges of corrosion under insulation (CuI). Some examples of corrosion and the effects will be presented. With current pipelines which suffer from CuI, the emphasis is on detection of corrosion, often under difficult conditions. With new pipelines or during repair, the correct use of materials, coatings, insulation and methodologies are critical for long term reliability and safety of plants.
