ML System a/s develops and supplies humidification systems for the control of indoor climates for the prevention of drying and health problems caused by dry air.
ML System is now one of the most expert manufacturers of humidification systems in the world.
For more than 20 years ML System has been a market leader in the field of high-pressure humidification.
We have successfully designed, produced, and installed more than 4,000 systems worldwide.
ML System is the only company to offer a reliable and safe system to the retail sector. For the past eight years we have had a mutually beneficial co-operation with the major players in the Scandinavian food retail sector, and today we cover a range of major supermarket chains.
CO2-REDUCING HUMIDI FICATION
ML System has pioneered the development of high pressure humidification. The new high pressure systems
not only save energy, they are also environmentally friendly. It often pays to replace an existing steam or
compressed air humidification system with a new high pressure system, as the energy saving alone will often
finance the new investment within a short period – often less than two years. To do so benefits the environment,
production, and the bottom line.
HYGIENE
ML System a/s is the only manufacturer of humidification systems in the world with ISO 22000 certification.
Our ISO 22000-certified hygiene control system guarantees the dimensions of the humidification system with
full control of water hygiene when the system is in operation.

ML System in Ry, Denmark, has been acquired by Walter Meier
The humidification company ML System a/s, pioneers within their field nearly 25 years ago, sustains its economic growth via a generational handover in which the company is sold to the international concern Walter Meier.
By the acquisition taking place at the beginning of September 2011 the founders of ML System, the married couple Marianne Jager and Leo Rasmussen, have sold their company to the Swiss concern Walter Meier. The sale is part of a generational handover that sustains economic growth in the high pressure humidification market, and it is essential for ML System to be able to safeguard the 44 jobs of which 35 are located in Denmark and Sweden, and 9 in North America.
The sale of ML System which was founded by Marianne Jager and Leo Rasmussen in 1987, is of no direct consequence to the company's customers and business partners. Our public image will remain the same, says Marianne Jager, who continues as
Managing director and Leo Rasmussen remains in charge of development and special projects.
ML System develops air humidification systems that sustain optimum air humidification. The systems are used everywhere in the industry. The high hygienic standards guaranteed by ML System are in high demand in supermarkets' fruit and vegetable departments. The company is acknowledged as one of the most competent manufacturers of air humidification systems all over the world.
With its third acquisition in the commercial and industrial humidification sector so far this year, Walter Meier is reinforcing its position as the global market leader and recording a major success in its expansion strategy.
CEO Silvan G.-R. Meier comments: “ML System is virtually the perfect complement to our existing activities in direct room humidification”.
Therefore we are pleased that ML System will continue within the framework of Walter Meier, who is an international climate and manufacturing technology group operating in more than 70 counties with more than 1600 employees. Walter Meier was founded in 1937 and currently generates annual sales of CHF 650 million a year. Just like ML System the concern emphasizes custom-made solutions and comprehensive support.

Danish Cooling and Humidification System for Facebook's New Data Centre
ML System a/s in Denmark, is to ensure cooling and air humidity at Facebook's new data centre in Luleå, Sweden. The centre will become one of the world's most high-tech and energy efficient of its kind.
With more than 850 million users across the world, the internet based social network Facebook manages huge amounts of data. So far, this has been done at data centres in the USA.
Facebook’s new data centres will be among the world's most energy efficient of their kind so far. Two of them have already been established in the USA, while the third is being placed in Luleå in Sweden, where a Danish company will supply equipment for cooling and adding air humidity.
It is the company ML System in Ry , Denmark that has developed a highly energy-saving cooling technique with atomisation of water. Through the evaporation of the tiny water droplets, the room temperature is lowered, thus ensuring maximum performance from the servers. At the same time, the system counteracts static electricity.
– During the first phase, we are going to supply a system capable of distributing 8,300 litres of water per hour with a cooling effect of 5,650 kW. This is called evaporative cooling and can be achieved with an electricity consumption of just 40 kWh, the company's Managing Director, Marianne Jager, explains.
ML’s system for atomisation of water under high pressure was originally developed with a view to ensuring the right level of air humidity in nurseries, but since then, it has been used in e.g. supermarket fruit and vegetable sections as well as in a number of industries with a need to remove process heat or maintain a constant level of air humidity, e.g. the timber industry and the graphic industry.
ML System is to suppl
y its system to Facebook in Luleå during the first phase of the building project. It is expected that shortly afterwards, that capacity will be expanded significantly during the second phase.
The system for Facebook is ML System's first installation of this type, but the company has great expectations for similar orders in the future. Over the next three years alone, many large data centres of a similar size are planned around the world.
ML System's agreement is with the Nordic installation group Bravida, who has been given total responsibility for the technical installations by main contractors NCC. ML System was chosen as supplier to Bravida (?) because the company has a reputation as being one of the most competent manufacturers of air humidification systems in the world. ML System is the only company that has been HACCP-certified according to ISO 22000 for ensuring and documenting hygiene-proof systems.
The first phase of Facebook's data centre in Luleå includes the construction of a building of 28,000 m2. The data centre will receive the LEED environmental certification. Bravida will have some 200 employees working on this job, which is expected to be completed by March 2013.
ML System in Ry, Denmark, was founded in 1987 and today employs some 50 people, of whom 10 are based at a branch in the USA, where the company sees great potential for growth. In the autumn of 2011, the company became part of the Swiss group Walter Meier AG, which is the largest in the world in the field of industrial air humidification with more than 1600 employees in more than 70 countries.
