  • DOUBLE-DIGIT CELEBRATION FOR TECH EXPERTS

CBS, based in Stretford, Manchester, is marking its 10th anniversary in May.

Over the last 10 years, the company has ridden out the highs and lows of business life and, in the process, grown from a small IT maintenance business into an Internet Services and Voice-Over specialist.

Along the way the company, which initially provided its services in the North West of England, has attracted an increasingly diverse client base and it now supplies small-to-medium sized firms across the UK.

Highlights for the company over the past decade have included – surviving a recession, moving offices and also launching its own telecoms product - onecomms, which CBS said has really started to take off this year.

“We started out with two people working in a single office. We moved to our own building in 2005 and grew to have around 10 staff by 2007. However, the subsequent recession resulted in a reduction, to our current level of six people. We are seeing a good recovery in 2012 and will be looking at recruiting more staff later in the year, ” said Technical Director Andy Thompson.

“Today we are providing our own broadband and voice services, offering IT networking and support and acting as our clients’ “virtual IT department” aswell.

“In 2001, most businesses accessed the internet using a slow dial-up connection. Nowadays, fast broadband is the norm and new products, such as 40Mb fibre optic
Broadband, mean that businesses are using remote access and ‘cloud-hosted’ services more and more.

“The next 10 years are sure to see some equally dramatic advances in technology and we will always be at the forefront of applying those technologies to provide business-friendly solutions,” added Mr Thompson.

Mr Thompson is sure CBS is geared-up to stay ahead of the game and it is ready to respond to its customers’ needs.

The company is planning to mark its success by running a number of promotions throughout the Summer period.
