  • IQVu - Torque Data Collector

    The IQVu is the most revolutionary Torque Data Collector in the world. It combines all of the features of the established TorqueStar Opta with a market leading, robust Tablet to give a modern and familiar product. It provides the ideal solution for the measurement and collection of torque, angle, and pulse data in the manufacturing and quality environment. 

    The Tablet is sleek, thin, but tough, certified to a MIL-STD810G six foot drop rating along with IP65 dust and water protection. It has been carefully engineered, down to the chassis, to be protected against drops, shocks, spills, vibration and more.

    The screen of the IQVu uses Gorilla Glass and features LumiBond™ optical bonding. This results in a display that is not only extremely robust and scratch resistant, but also very durable and easy to read in most lighting conditions. With the addition of an external barcode reader or optional integrated barcode reader or RFID reader, the operator is able to scan information into the IQVu. This includes product or part identifiers, user details and comments and references.

    Security of the IQVu and any data collected is a priority for users. All data can easily be backed up to an external source with minimal key presses. Equally such data can be restored to the IQVu with the same ease.

  • TorqueStar Opta - Data collector

    TorqueStar Opta is the equipment of choice for the measurement and collection of torque, angle, pulse and force data in the manufacturing and quality environment.

    TorqueStar Opta’s range of software features can be individually specified to give a configuration most suited to the requirement, from a simple no-frills readout to a comprehensive audit tool with display of torque or force curves and specialist measurement routines.
    The basic Torquestar Opta performs bi-directional measurement of torque, angle, force (peak only) and pulse count in track, 1st peak (click) and pulse measurement modes. For additional information, cycle time duration and tool speed can also be displayed.

    The Torque-Star Opta torque measuring device can measure force independently. Time and date stamped readings can be set to print automatically. The easy-read display gives a simultaneous view of all relevant information during the measurement process, while the simple alphanumeric keypad enables fast data entry when required.

    The TCI Multi is a production lineside controller that interfaces with the RF WrenchStar Multi to a company's manufacturing system using protocols such as Open Protocol. Connect up to 5 Wrenches at once, ideal for the production environment.

    The TCI Multi allows easy management, set up and diagnostics of itself via web browsers. The TCI a,Multi lso connects via the Ethernet or serial, and provides a comprehensive real time status via LED's.

  • WrenchStar Multi

    The WrenchStar Multi Production Wrench is for customers who require Torque and Angle data digitally recording. The WrenchStar Multi has a 360° Light Ring that is completely visible at any angle. The Wrench can be used wirelessly or with a cable option.

    The quick change battery allows less downtime in production. The Wrench will also accept interchangeable heads with ID for Auto length compensation.

    It has a small OLED display that is clear and bright and shows how many Jobs are left. There is a strong vibration alert when reaching desired torque.

    The Wrench will connect wirelessly using RF to the IQVu. If the Wrench goes out of range then it will continue to take readings. Once you are back in range it will automatically connect to the IQVu and send the data. It has a 200 reading storage so you can work offline before having to return to the IQvu to send your Jobs.

  • RFm - RF Wireless Communication Device

    The RFm allows the CheckStar Multi to become wireless when used in conjunction with an IQVu Torque Data Collector. Previously a CheckStar Multi would connect via a cable to an IQVu or a TorqueStar Opta. This addition to the IQVu family allows the CheckStar Multi to be situated in areas where long lengths of cable would be a hazard, or impractical.

    The RFm reads the Torque and Angle values in real time and converts them to digital values. The RFm analyses the digital samples using measurement algorithms to calculate properties of the fastening such as Peak or Click. The RFm communicates the final fastening readings to an IQVu using RF giving a range of approximately 10m*. If the RFm loses its link to the IQVu, then it continues to work offline, storing up to 200 readings. It is very easy to pair, (associate the connection), of a RFm with a particular IQVu.

  • Checkstar Multi - Torque Transducer

    The CheckStar Multi is the latest generation of Crane Electronics market leading CheckStar in line Rotary Torque Transducer. It raises the standard for dynamic torque and angle measurement of all continuous drive and impulse tools, with proven reliable performance in thousands of applications worldwide.
     
    If angle is specified, the CheckStar Multi rotary torque transducer will include an angle encoder giving 0.125° resolution (720 PPR). It also incorporates a light ring, giving the user visual feedback of the status of a tightening,when used with a Crane readout or data collector. Whatever the vibration and shock loads experienced, CheckStar Multi’s patented contact system ensures a connection is always maintained between the readout and the strain gauges. Inferior systems suffer from “brush bounce” that leads to unreliable torque readings.

    The CheckStar Multi fits in line between the assembly tool and the fastener, measuring the actual torques applied and angular rotation of the fastener, under production conditions.

    Whatever the vibration and shock loads experienced, CheckStar Multi’s patented contact system ensures a connection is always maintained between the readout and the strain gauges. Inferior systems suffer from “brush bounce” that leads to unreliable torque readings.

    The low inertia design of the CheckStar Multi ensures accurate and repeatable measurement of high speed transients, such as the point of shut-off on continuous drive tools and the pulsing of impulse tools.

    Using on board intelligence the CheckStar Multi is automatically recognised by a Crane data collector or readout device, eliminating set-up errors and enabling logging of serial number against measurements for complete traceability. The CheckStar Multi can also be used where a user needs the advanced features of the transducer but already has a data collector or readout device from another manufacturer.

  • Stationary Torque Transducers

    Crane’s stationary Torque Transducers are the quality choice for the testing of all continuous drive, impulse and hand Torque tools in the workshop and production line-side environment.

    Stationary Torque Transducers are used off the production line in workshop or line-side test stations. Combined with Joint Kits that represent the production joint condition, the stationary transducers form an effective offline test for verification of assembly tool performance.
    Stationary transducers form an essential part of the Crane UTA torque system, enabling Plug and Play operation with Crane readout devices.   • tJRS Opta - Joint Simulator bench

    The tJRS Opta is the only fully automated joint simulator that is based on a threaded fastener. This means that joint conditions can be set up in the same way as in real fastener applications, and also the joint can be automatically “backed off”. As a result, tools can be tested offline under the most realistic conditions of any automated joint simulator, in a quick and efficient manner.

    The tJRS Opta combines many of Crane’s proven class leading products along with innovative techniques based on simple mechanical principles, allowing the user complete confidence in the results of their tool testing.

    Traditionally, automated joint simulators have used friction brake systems in place of a threaded fastener. The reasons for this were to overcome the two main issues which are having to reverse, or back-off, after each rundown and the cumbersome nature of re-configuring the joint characteristic.

    Whilst friction brakes can easily be reset, removing the back-off issue, they introduce many of their own problems often resulting in the simulator having significantly different properties to actual joints the tools will be used on.

    The revolutionary tJRS Opta combines the benefits of using a threaded fastener with the convenience of a fully automated simulator.

    Crane Electronics Ltd are proud to announce the launch of the TCI Multi – Lineside Controller. The TCI (Tool Control Interface) Multi allows the user to connect up to five Wrenches to be used in assembly production. The WrenchStar Multi can be connected to the TCI Multi at the push of a button.

    The TCI Multi allows easy management, set up and diagnostics of itself via Web Browsers. The TCI Multi can be used stand alone and jobs can be selected and results sent to a PC or Web Page. The TCI Multi accepts Open Protocol commands via Ethernet to select a Job to use with the WrenchStar Multi.

    The TCI Multi has Web Status Page that allows Ethernet properties, RF properties, logging of messages, and Wrench status to be monitored. Web Page mirrors last Torque and Angle reading from Wrench plus its Torque status (LO, OK and HI). LED lights show real time status of the Wrench connection on the unit.

    Connection to Crane Transducers is also possible using the Rfm wireless connection device.
