Products

Economic evaluations We perform health economic evaluations, as required by many national authorities or other actors in Europe. Our services range from localising global health economic assessment models owned by our clients to developing new analytical models, comparing the efficacy/effectiveness of various health technologies and conducting national/local outcomes and/or cost research. The study results can be reported in scientific manuscripts, congress presentations/posters and reports ready for internal use and/or submission.

Analytical models We design and develop models (e.g. cost-effectiveness models, budget impact models, process models). Cost-effectiveness models are used in the analysis of the expected costs and benefits of different technologies. Typically, the costs associated with an additional unit of benefit that can be obtained with one treatment over another are assessed. Budget impact models are used to analyse the cost impact (or future investments) related to adopting new technologies. The analytical models are designed to match the treatment practices in the context that is being studied. The model and its inputs may be based on research data provided by the client, scientific literature, meta-analyses, cost analyses or comparative effectiveness research.

Meta-analyses and indirect comparisons We design and plan efficacy comparisons, i.e. systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses, between various alternatives. Different statistical approaches can be applied depending on the quality and quantity of the available data. In the absence of head-to-head clinical trial evidence, indirect comparisons, mixed treatment comparisons or network meta-analyses can be performed.

Effectiveness and costing studies We have experience in planning, analysing and reporting effectiveness and costing studies. The studies can be performed, for example, as piggy-back research in the context of clinical trials or non-interventional prospective/retrospective cohort studies.

Consulting and training We plan and arrange educational lectures and short courses related to health economics and outcomes research to suit the needs of our clients or their interest groups. The lectures, symposiums and short courses may be related to evaluations that ESiOR has conducted or they can inform the participants of health economic assessments or statistical methods in general. Our clients may also benefit from our expertise in producing content (e.g. slide-show presentations, scientific posters, advertisements, expert opinions/statements) and quality assurance (second opinion services).
