White paper for packing cosmetics
Through continuous innovation and in reaction to demand from several large cosmetics customers, Ranpak – global leader in paper-based protective packaging systems - has recently introduced an alternative to its traditional brown paper used to protect products in boxes during shipment.
The new product line is a white paper which has a much cleaner appearance than the natural brown paper - a trait often required to complement products in an industry where image, hygiene and an absence of harmful chemicals are highly important.
The initiative has proven popular with end-users, because in comparison to air pillows, bubble wrap or other void fill methods, the white paper gives the package an enhanced quality, making the product feel more valuable and the customer feel more important and assured that care and attention has been taken in the dispatch process.
Product Manager Alexandra Snijders comments: 'we have seen a lot of interest for white paper from cosmetics and pharmaceutical companies in a relatively short space of time, so we are hoping it will have a real impact on how these industries view their packing operations.'
Further more, this white paper can be used in conjunction with a branded paper strip, the Ad’Pad, which is stitched along the top of the paper pad displaying the sender’s branding and contact details. This can be customized to include a range of marketing messages. The Ad’Pad further enhances the overall experience for the receiver and strengthens customer loyalty for the sender.
Alexandra adds: 'The Ad'Pad is innovative and something which we are very proud of. It is a unique tool to combine marketing and packaging needs’.
White paper can run through both Ranpak cushioning and void fill systems, with 1 and 2 ply options, and does not affect the high speed of the packing process.
Furthermore, all Ranpak paper packaging solutions are produced from sustainable forestry sources and are 100% biodegradable and recyclable, offering a more environmentally friendly alternative to polystyrene chips, air bags and bubble wrap. Ranpak paper is an extremely durable multi-ply or single ply Kraft paper and is available in 50, 70 or 90 grams, which maintains its shape in the box, even after being kept in storage for several months.
