Within our cluster you will find experienced and competent specialists who welcome questions and challenging problems pertaining to failure analysis, characterisation of materials, non-destructive and destructive materials testing (and training thereof), structural mechanics, machine dynamics and acoustics, as well as calibration of metrological instruments and the application of metrological techniques.
We offer comprehensive support with regard to selecting the right materials for machinery components (metals, polymers, ceramics and coatings) and interpreting experimental measurements (e.g. tensile behaviour, material processing state). Our also provide support in the areas of fatigue analyses, quality assurance, failure investigations and questions on materials of all types. We perform material property investigations and numerical and experimental stress analyses under operating conditions, where our comprehensive range of modern measuring instrumentation enables state-of-the-art vibration and data analyses. In failure investigations we have access to broad knowledge on corrosion, wear and mechanical engineering expertise within the business units throughout Sulzer and we can recommend optimum remedies within a short time period. Our business and test procedures in our accredited laboratories and inspection stations meet the requirements set down in various international standards such as EN, ISO, ASTM, ASME, NADCAP and others.
