Tank Storage Canada is part of a family of global events in the bulk liquid storage sector

Each event focuses on a specific tank storage hub, such as the ARA and Singapore, and looks at the issues specific to the area. Canada, for example, is a unique market, home to one of the largest oil producing regions in the world. As such, this event targets terminal operators already situated in Canada, those looking to invest in the region or those simply wanting to better understand the local market.

Presentations are designed to educate and inform. Based on market research with existing terminal operators, previous delegates and readers of Tank Storage magazine, the programme has been created to bring together a wide range of experts to provide an intense two days of training.

The programme delivers in-depth market analysis, providing up-to-date information on topics such as oil & petrochemical price trends, the amount of current storage capacity, future needs for infrastructure, trade flows and market dynamics.

Independent analysts and experts will all come together in one place to answer questions you may have. In order to grow in Canada, companies need to be aware of what the future may hold. This section will answer questions such as:

  • How much are the oilsands expected to grow?
  • Where will this product be exported?
  • Which regions may need additional storage infrastructure to facilitate this?
  • How long is the market expected to be in a backwardated state?
  • Which terminal facilities have recently expanded in the region, and what are the reasons behind this?
  • What impact will refinery closures and the growth of the biofuels market have on storage terminal growth?
  • Does the aviation sector offer a potential investment opportunity?
  • What should I be thinking about when expanding my facility?
  • Where do potential investment opportunities lie?

The second major issue to be addressed at this event is that of regulations. As anyone in the sector knows, it is of upmost importance to comply with the latest API and local standards - and in order to comply, you need to be aware of the latest changes. API 2350, for example, covering overfill prevention was recently been updated in May 2012. Experts explaining these changes, as well as others, will be on hand to make sure you have everything you need to comply.

Coupled with this is the need to ensure every terminal is performing the recommended best practices. By hearing about potential near-misses, and the ways in which others carry our safety leadership, you and your employees can gather ideas, implement recommendations and above all ensure safety messages are shared throughout the storage industry.

Last, but not least, this event will also give you the opportunity to hear about new technologies you may not be aware of. Could there be a more efficient or cost-effective way to protect your terminal from lightning, reduce vapour emissions or improve your tank foundations? Without events such as Tank Storage Canada, you may never know.

This event provides a one-stop for terminal managers, HS&E supervisors, engineers and other personnel to learn, train, network and improve.

Can you afford not to be there?

Attendance to the Conference is limited to industry professionals and is not open to the general public. This guarantees that participants are relevant making networking opportunities more effective and valuable.
