Mark’s current role is with the Aerospace Technology Institute in Cranfield, United Kingdom. Mark is Head of Technology – Structures, Manufacturing and Materials. He is responsible for delivery of the UK aerospace research programme through £3.9bn investment to grow the UK’s competitive position, safeguard and enable new jobs, and increase high value design and manufacture. His role provides technology leadership to maximise funding impact, convene strategic partnerships and elevate the UK’s international aerospace profile.
Mark’s previous role was at Airbus Operations Ltd based in Bristol, United Kingdom. Mark was Head of Manufacturing Engineering Research for Wing. His function was responsible for the development of future aircraft architectures and enabling technologies for legacy and future programmes.

Prior to the aerospace sector employment, Mark was employed in the equipment supply industry, installing automation solutions within companies such as Lotus, Cosworth, Honda, Land Rover, Ford, Gillette, and Procter and Gamble.

David Masters

David Masters gained vast experience as an Aeronautical Engineer in the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy.
He operated as a flight safety coordinator and was qualified to sign and maintain the Lynx helicopter.
After leaving the Royal Navy David gained a broad and extensive understanding of commerce, working in engineering supply line management, customer service, and sales.

David works in Vapormatt as a Business Development Engineer focusing and supporting the UK & Irish customers. He continues to assistance Vapormatt in its focus on evolving and growing the business within the aerospace and composite markets.

Sebastiaan Wijskamp works as a Senior Research Associate at the ThermoPlastis Composites Research Center, which he joined in October 2015. He is responsible for Business Development including management of industrial projects. Sebastiaan has been active in the field of thermoplastic composites for nearly 20 years, where he has gained experience in R&D, production technology and business development. He earned his MSc and PhD at the University of Twente (Enschede, The Netherlands) working on residual stress modelling and warpage prediction of formed thermoplastic composite parts.

Robert Garbett

Robert Garbett is an ex-army entrepreneur who in 2007 left the military as a Major following injury in service. Professor Meiling Zhu, Head of Department - Energy Harvesting Team, Exeter University

Meiling Zhu is full professor and Head of Energy Harvesting Research Group at the University of Exeter in the UK. Professor Zhu received her BEng in Mechanical Manufacturing in 1989, MEng in Applied Mechanics in 1992 and PhD in Mechanical Dynamics in 1994 at Southeast University, Nanjing, China. Since 2007, she has developed  “an integrated system vision” and worked on energy harvesting powered wireless sensor systems for real world applications. Her research themes are in novel energy harvesting methods, energy efficient and adaptive power management, energy-aware wireless sensing, and their design and modelling, implementation and integration, and characterisations and applications.  She has, with her group members, developed a number of  proof-of-concept technology demonstrators of energy harvesting powered wireless sensing nodes, including  two for aviation industry  and two for wearable devices. She has a wealth of experience in the research and development of energy harvesting powered wireless sensor systems for versatile applications. She has been awarded a total of around £8.9million research funding as PI and as co-I for a number of research projects in the areas of her interests.
