  • Hansford Sensors Premium HS-170 offers enhanced monitoring efficiency

Hansford Sensors has launched the Premium HS-170 accelerometer family, a new sensor with an improved frequency response and enhanced efficiency to vibration monitoring. The product marks the launch of a new premium range, offering yet further quality and reliability from Hansford Sensors, which will now be available in both standard and premium ranges.

The Hansford Sensors Premium HS-170 accelerometer is designed to be used with portable data collection systems, enabling accurate and repeatable readings to be taken from fixed or temporarily mounted sensors around a factory or plant.

A key benefit offered by the sensor is that it will bring increased efficiency to vibration monitoring as it has a higher frequency response rate in addition to faster settling times. With improved frequency response, especially at low frequencies, the Premium HS-170 responds faster when the data collector is plugged in. If an engineer has to take readings from multiple sensors around a plant, waiting for sensors with a lower frequency response rate to respond can add up to a lot of waiting time. The Premium HS-170 reduces the time needed to take a route.

The Premium HS-170 is part of the new Hansford Sensors premium product family including top entry and side entry accelerometers with dual output temperature, plus integral cables and connectors. The range supports Hansford Sensors’ complete range of existing industrial accelerometers. These include standard sensors, for use with all rotating and reciprocating equipment, plus submersible and ATEX-approved sensors for specialised applications, multi-sensor switch boxes, vibration sensor modules, portable vibration meters and condition monitoring protection systems.

  • New Hansford Sensors products enhance vibration monitoring

Hansford Sensors has launched a range of new products that enable engineers to bring yet greater efficiency to vibration monitoring in a range of applications. Among the new products are the latest 4-20mA Transmitters, or Loop Powered Sensors, the new M12 Cable Assemblies with protective conduits and Snap On Quick Release Cables.

With the capability of interfacing directly into PLC, BMS, or SCADA, the 4-20mA Transmitters / Loop Powered Sensors (LPS) are ideal for online monitoring. Using Hansford Sensors’ 4-20mA devices to measure lower value assets, such as fans and pumps, offers a cost-effective alternative when AC components are not required.

Meanwhile, Hansford Sensors has made life easier for vibration monitoring engineers by adding M12 Cable Assemblies with protective conduits and Snap On Quick Release Cables to the product list. The HS-AC190 is the latest in Hansford Sensors’ series of robust cable assemblies for tough industrial applications. With 2-pin MS connector and stainless steel protective conduit the assembly can withstand operating temperatures of up to 150 degrees with high levels of resistance to chemical attack, while Snap On Quick Release Cables enable easier installation and maintenance.

Hansford Sensors vibration monitoring equipment is used to enhance efficiency across a wide range of applications, including metals, pharmaceuticals, wind power, marine, paper, mining and quarrying, food and beverage.

  • Hansford Sensors publishes white paper on ATEX directives

A new publication from Hansford Sensors, the leading manufacturer of industrial vibration sensors, will help process and manufacturing engineers gain a better understanding of the latest ATEX directives.
Available as a free White Paper download from the Hansford Sensors’ web site, the new publication helps engineers understand the regulations implemented by the ATEX 95 Equipment Directive 94/9/EC and the ATEX 137 Workplace Directive 99/92/EC, and how these apply in different applications.
Titled ‘Confused about the ATEX Directives?’, the White Paper was co-authored with David Almond, Sales and Marketing Director at Pressure Vacuum Level Ltd. It addresses a number of common areas where errors in implementing the directives can occur and clarifies the zoning system for using ATEX registered products.
“As a manufacturer of ATEX approved products, we could see there was a pressing need to produce a simple guide on the important regulations that govern the use of electrical and mechanical components within hazardous areas,” said Chris Hansford, Managing Director, Hansford Sensors. “Fundamentally, the directives facilitate employee safety and any steps that can be taken to ensure this are of the utmost importance”.

  • Hansford Sensors offers solutions packs for pumps, motors & fans

Hansford Sensors has launched a number of product packages specifically for protecting pumps, motors and fans, offering complete and simple vibration monitoring solutions for a range of applications.

The Hansford Sensors vibration monitoring packages contain sensors, enclosures and cables plus any further accessories required for the application, all packaged, tested and ready for installation. These can be ordered on one PO number, making it easier and speedier for customers to purchase all the components they need in a single package. Engineers can then get a vibration monitoring solution up and running fast with all the correctly specified and compatible components for the application.

For example, a typical range of packages for cooling tower applications allows engineers to select between an offline or online option. The offline package contains sensors, switch enclosure and optional junction enclosure in stainless steel, polycarbonate or mild steel, and cable. Online packages are also available containing the same items as the offline option plus power supply unit and trip modules. You can view these examples of product packages in Hansford Sensors free white paper on Cooling Towers, which can be downloaded at www.hansfordsensors.com/news/whitepapers
