What our visitors say

Here is a selection of quotes from visitors at the easyFairs PACKAGING UK 2008 shows.

Kevin Green, Packaging  Specification Controller at novelty confectioners Kinnerton, which produces Simpsons, Thomas the Tank Engine and Winnie the Pooh goodies, said he attended easyFairs PACKAGING INNOVATIONS in the hope of sourcing some out-of-the-ordinary concepts.

"We're always on the look-out for unusual, quirky packaging that complements our confectionery range," added Kevin. "Such ideas often come from smaller, niche companies which means they're not easy to find - but this show brought them together alongside larger players under one roof. I was especially interested in some wooden packaging innovations and we are considering investigating this further."

Sarah Calcutt from English fruit marketers Norman Collett Ltd, said: “I’ve come specifically to check out environmental developments at the new easyFairs ECOPACK show, especially advances in biodegradable products and low-micron plastics and films. It’s been an extremely valuable event, and well worth the trip from our Kent base.”

“easyFairs PACKAGING INNOVATIONS is a real breeding ground for new ideas and, as we can’t do everything in-house, the new easyFairs CONTRACT PACK show was a great opportunity to meet potential business partners,” said Dean Brown, Packaging Development Engineer for Home Retail Group – the company behind Argos and Homebase.

Andy Hunt, Chairman of home composting company Green by Nature: “It was the perfect opportunity to engage with specific packaging suppliers, rather than having to arrange numerous meetings over several weeks. The event exceeded all expectations; there simply wasn’t enough time in a day to see everything. I attended one seminar on laser printing which was fascinating – and also gave me a chance to rest my feet for 30 minutes!”

Mario Moseira, from Portuguese metal and plastic packagers Neorelva, said: "There was a huge range of packaging innovations on show covering all aspects of the industry. This show rivals any I've attended across Europe."

Mark Aitchison, Packaging Development Manager at chocolatier Thorntons, said the show introduced him to numerous innovative suppliers that weren't previously on the company's packaging radar. He added: "There were plenty of exhibitors that we already use so it was good to catch up with them. Importantly, though, there was a significant number of stands from companies that were new to us and who were showcasing products of interest. We're following up with about half a dozen of these suppliers and I expect we will do business with one or two of them in the future."
